He might be thinking safety or he's predicting you'll end up with even more HP eventually. I think the latter. If 400 is good 500 is better.

On the 243 heads did you mill the heads to get your compression back up because of the larger combustion chambers? Or just put them on as is?

Only milled the heads .015. Compression Ratio is still less than 10:1
 
I'm pretty sure I saw one of these on Bitchin Rides TV show tonight.

Update. Crown wiper motor quit working today. So far every part that I bought from Crown or Omix has gone bad. If you have a choice I recommend rebuilding your OEM parts.

You cant beat an original OEM US built wiper motor..... But hang on just one minute..........................:eek:

Yes, they were made in Japan, even the originals. But the quality is so much better ! Not China. If that's where crown is made. The last nos one I had I listed just last week. And it sold for $140 within a few hours buy it now [emoji15]

Well my wiper motor is still going strong after 35 years of work, which is more than can be said for the Crown ball joints, shackles and dont even start me off with the 150 mile tie rod end.....
As i believe zr10054 and Belizeit were trying to say OEM or a proper manufacturer such as MOOG, Federal Mogul,Spicer etc has to be the better choice, its just a shame a lot of the big companies still have their stuff made where labour is cheap and quality isn't always a high priority.

JJ pick me out a good one and let me know the rest. Your refurnished parts look better than new. I'll take a wiper motor and a complete rebuilt linkage because I know you will do it right.

What we need is someone to come up with a Scrambler/CJ only parts Catalog.
I'm talking about a complete parts catalog that is inclusive of everything possible.
All the ones I get are about YJ's, TJ's, XJ's etc and nothing for CJ's. Heck I would be willing to pay $20.00 to get one of these.
 
We don't use wipers out here in the desert so our motors are like new. 😎
