I'm looking for a full soft top in spice color or nutmeg, if possible. It looks like Bestop only makes these in Black now, huh? Is there a way to buy one or have one made in another color? Scrambler newbie...Any ideas appreciated! Thanks!

I just spoke to b-deco.com and the tops are 2600.00 about 4 weeks to build. Ouch about 1600.00 more than best top

But they are the only game in town if you want any color other than black.

Just think about what it takes to make an actual top... and then add in the fact that it is in the color you want.
It is supply/demand, if Best top thought they could make money selling full multi-color tops for Scramblers, they would be doing it.

I wonder if it would be possible to dye the soft top material a different color. I know someone here dyed soft upper doors a different color a while ago.

I know Bestop does make other colors available in soft tops for JKs and I think JLs, probably Gladiators too eventually. Unfortunately, that's just the way it is. I couldn't even get Bestop to just sell me a new top minus the hardware. I didn't think that request was unreasonable. Another thing that would be killer is to be able to get the thicker 'sailcloth' material for our Jeeps. But that won't happen from Bestop. I don't know if b-deco offers that. I had a sailcloth top on my TJ and it was 10x's better than the factory material.

I believe BD uses Haartz material which is a premium thicker product. Better quality than what bestop uses for the cj8.

I just took a look at their website and noticed they are also now offering a Scrambler 1/2 soft top and full tonneau cover kit. It is also a bit pricey but it is the first company I have seen offering it currently. I am tempted, but would need to find a solution to my roll bar mounted seat belts.

They've been offering those from the start I think, and they should be able to take your 3pt belts into account. 75-80% of scramblers had roll bar mounts, so I'd hesitate to guess that all of their half tops already take the belts into account.

I know I emailed them a while back and asked if they made a 1/2 top and never got a reply. I have never seen it listed on their website as an option or price on their website, only the full top, until just now.
It says they will not work with a roll bar mounted belt and only with hard doors. I'm sure if they ask they could work out a modification.
I have been wanting a 1/2 cab soft top for a while now and they are hard to find.

I remember from the start they were impossible to find on their site, it's a terribly designed site. Maybe they stopped for a while then started up again, but 8yrs ago or so when they queried the forum, the half/tonneau was definitely on the menu. Seems foolish to limit it to lap belt models only. It's an added degree of difficulty, requiring zippers and braces, but it's been done in the past - by Whitco, and both Kayline and STC, who they bought the patterns from.

The hard door option is understandable, they don't want to be in the business of making soft doors too.

I live in Loveland just north of Denver. I'm going to call them and see if I can look at the top installed on an 8 if they have one and see if they can make one with a modification. I really don't need a tonneau cover, so I hope they will sell the top only.

I lived in Loveland until 2013, Taft and 46th. Worked up in RMNP occasionally with the NPS, while I was a graduate student at CSU. My profile pic was taken just south of Coyote Ridge.

Way back when, they had a couple forum members send their scramblers in for fitting. @JeepScrambler, I think you were one, weren't you?

Whether you want it or not, I'd spring for the tonneau just to have if I were you ?

Wow, You lived just down the street from me. I hike coyote ridge all the time and have lived off Taft and 37th since 2000. I'm curious to see how the mount the top and tonneau. I hate to drill more holes than I need too.

That part of Colorado is near and dear to my heart. My ancestors settled land in Platteville on a railroad grant in the 1870’s. My mother and Aunt still jointly own that farm. Spent many Christmas and summers up there. Family also has a cabin on the Big Thompson, about 3/4 the way up to Estes Park. My Aunt just took down the original cabin built by my great grand parents and replaced it with a more modern and livable cabin. Luckily the property is well situated and has not been affected by any of the floods of past. My grandmother taught music in Loveland. Mother went to Colorado State.

Back on topic, I have bought some parts from BD, I have always had good luck calling them, not so much luck with e-mail. I get the feeling they are a small custom shop that only makes things after they are ordered. I doubt they will have any examples ready for viewing. They might have photos of one installed though.

I had no idea so many people had connections to the area. My great-great grandfather was a saddle maker in Littleton before he was killed by a train in Union Station. I was here to help for the flood and the fire the year before working at the Sheriff's Office. I have a couple acres up in Estes Park. We plan on building our home up there in the future. I'm sure I pass by your family cabin as I drive up to Estes Park often. I have camera traps set up near the park to capture wildlife photos.

I will call them and see if they have a sample. Hopefully they will at least have some more photos and they can make a Nutmeg top for me.

Here is a photo from Estes on Thanksgiving:)RDY_1747-Edit.jpg
