What is your go-to solution for carrying extra fuel?

I just installed a 30 gal. from TDK and it went in easily. The best part of the install aside from the extra gas and the skid plate (very stout) is
you get to do away with the o.m.e. fuel pump and sending unit. I also added a door in the bed should you ever have to access the fuel pump
or sender.

Looking at this thing and taking measurements, trying to figure out how it’s going to fit. Curious if you needed to make and minor mods to the provided crossmember or the front mounting flange of the skid plate. Does yours hang down between the rear spring shackles? That looks super tight, too.
 
Also ordered their NV4500 crossmember with removable skid plate, if anyone cares about that.

I don't think that I made any mods to the skid plate flange or the supplied crossmember, in fact that crossmember was not needed as I was using their frame (plenty strong enough) but installed it anyway. I cut out the existing rear tank crossmember and moved it to the rear frame angle and bolted it to it, skid plate holes lined up with the moved crossmember. About 3/8" between skid plate and rear shackle bolts, remember to install shackle bolts from outside pointing inboard.

Using their frame probably made a big difference. I would be interested to see what their front fuel tank crossmember looks like. My guess it that the bottom of it is flat all the way across instead of tapering downward like the factory one. This looks like it’s going to be tough to get those body mount bolts in, too.

Sounds like I am going to have to lose the greaseable shackle bolts, too.

I guess they likes my idea!😁 Seriously, this is a great option even with the price. They should offer a weld-in flange mount for a GM style fuel module/bucket. That would take care of most all EFI conversions.

This seriously needs to be an option...being able to have a safe/tough/bigger option with cheap reliable LS OEM fuel tower would be perfect.
 
Take plenty of pictures installing. My OE tanks is a bit deformed. Wondering how hard this is.

Wouldn’t mind seeing how you added an access panel in the bed, either.
