CJ Spice Dash - does it exist?

I'm curious if there is such a thing as a CJ dash in spice. I've been told by some that they have one for sale, but I've been told by others that spice was a wrangler color only. Anyone have the facts. Not trying to start an argument, but sure would like to know - I'm heading toward a sppice interior and don't know whether to stay black on the dash or not.

There are others on here who know better than I, but I think the brown interior (including dash) in Scramblers , and probably most of CJ's during time period was Nutmeg. I don't know of any that had spice, and thought like you mentioned that came later in the Wranglers. It's harder than heck to find decent nutmeg interior parts now. The 1981 that I'm currently reworking has nutmeg interior, but I'll probably have to go black when I get around to redoing the interior, since the original seats and dash aren't in too great a shape.
 
Nutmeg interior

I change colors on my '82 Yellow/Nutmeg 4 banger during my resto and did not go back with nutmeg as my interior color. Its pretty nice with only one small crack/tear. I've got PICs if interested.

I don't know whether that's spice or nutmeg, but I've got a dash the same color and one that is a denim tan. But man I really like those seats, I'm figuring that you got those custom re-upholstered. Right?
 
Thats Nutmeg, I have one Nutmeg, and another one that may be spice. Its a different color for sure. I'm going to try & go down to the ranch tomorrow, if i do I'll bring both home & take some pictures. I'll post both & let everyone decide from there.

your right on those seats Cj8er.thats the one thing the PO did right.he said he made them himself.he does canvas work so i believe him.he also made a tonnou for the bed to match.

Spice was never a CJ color. The only brown colors in CJ's were:
Levi Tan 1976- 1980
Nutmeg 1981- 1984
Honey 1985-1986

Levi Tan was the closest to YJ spice. Levi Tan was never offered in a Scrambler. If you want to go with Spice, buy the Omix-Ada aftermarket dash pad in primer and paint it to match.

I have one the same identical color, I'm told it's the Levi tan.

Dash Pad

Well the one i have is for sale if anyone wants it. I'm changing colors on mine & going with black.

If you want the metallic you probably will have to buy the automotive paint and spray it. If you want to match the honey used in 1985 and 86 interiors, then you can get a spray can of SEM Color Coat in Camel color and it matches well.
