Refit and repaint this winter almost complete

This is our 1982 that we have had for about 3 years. I was not thinking this winter was a major refit but addressing some rust turned into a slippery slope and one thing led to another then a repaint was underway...
The paint is a darker metallic non-stock blue so we have mixed some custom colors for the stripes. Going with a black trim/accessories instead of chrome and aluminum. The stripes are going to be fit to the different profile of the flares so they are set further back.
New 15x10 black powder coat rims and new door hardware, hinges for the window frame, and hood items are all black and getting painted and cleared.
The guy who's painting it is old school, the booth is attached to his trailer home and there's a half dozen, half finished 50s t-birds, mustangs and dodge muscle cars under various storage sheds around the yard. He is working on this while he battles through cancer, he's a trooper and loves jeeps, has two that run, likely more than a few more that don't.
Under the hood a new high amp alternator to better deal with the YJ fuel injection and 4.0 head conversion as well as dual electric fans. New water pump, exhaust manifold and some wire harness clean up. Who'd a thought hacking a yj harness into a cj would need any work. Fixed some leaks and changed how the valve cover was evac-ed . I pieced together an entire black and charcoal yj interior with two back seats with the repeating logo. I just like the 80s look. Getting real difficult to find OEM Jeep seats in good condition.
Ill upload pics next week of the finished product.

Can someone explain how I can add more than one image at a time? Sorry to be a bother but I can figure it out, the first one I stitched all the images together into one to upload.

Stripping down the winch this weekend. I am not doing a full service given the winch is operating fine just repacking the grease, sanding and painting. It was good to take it apart, a bunch of corrosion on the motor connections over time that would have failed if I had heavy usage on a trail. It is back together and primed and sanded. Some on the internet suggest Duplicolor Graphite ($9.99 a can), there seems to be more certainty around GM Argent Silver Metallic as the base color (39.99/can).
Doors are painted and stripes are done. Too cold to clear anything so waiting until mid week to clear the truck and start putting it back together.

Paid membership. Pretty cheap. Less than a tank of gas for the year. And well worth it.
Thanks for the heads up and I appreciate politely pointing out I should support the forum, is there a way to post a survey? Would like to get thoughts on swapping on it the original ss cable with dyneema and what the rest of the membership thinks

@bigwalton or someone can get with you about that but yes I believe so.

So when I tore down the winch I was somewhat surprised by a bent main shaft. When I researched it came back with shock loads likely a snatch strap created extreme torsional load and bent it. When I took the winch off the plate all bolts were tight and plate bolts were tight where it was attached to the frame. That's extreme. 16987.jpg

Came out of the paint booth today. Have not put the scrambler lettering on the truck but will do that tomorrow and shoot it with clear on the last of 4 layers of clear coat. Unfortunate down side is that something I really didnt mind driving in the woods and scraping bushes down the side just incurred a bit more wincing going forward. Tomorrow we finish assembling it and putting the door cards on and mounting the new 15x10 AREs to replace the steelies.

So the Jeep is 'done' for now. I am really happy with how it turned out and Jimmy the guy who poured a ton of time into the project made a photo book for me of the restoration. My son and I rebuilt the winch and I spent hours online over the past year sourcing the interior. Our two labs, Ruger and Teak love it. I bought it off FB marketplace in KS 3 years ago and included the pictures from when I got it. I went with a black theme instead of chrome. The hard doors have the black top section as well. I left the exact stripe to Jimmy and he spaced them out a bit more and I like how it looks. I added a picture of Jimmy bc its his time and expertise that delivered the project, I was along for the ride.
