    Giving it a Jolt

So I have a question. since it seams you are keeping the transmission do you plan to shift it like a combustion engine? If so how are you handling the motor rpm drop when you let off the pedal to change gears? Combustion engines hang near the rpm when shift but I am guessing the electric...

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

Looks like check valves are pretty common to help keep pumps primed at startup. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vpe-11116?seid=srese1&gclid=CjwKCAiAuoqABhAsEiwAdSkVVD_xKg28yNRLSU88ytxJ461X2Qi95a8r1CqOlmQ0_TsAxH9Y5bD89hoCitUQAvD_BwE

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

I ordered the kit last week from Advance Adapters. I hope I do not have to wait months for it. I can do everything else first so even if this part is last I can still get everything else installed and running beforehand.

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

I got the old motor out last night. I have a few people wanting it but two want me to ship it across the country which I was not planning to do if I can help it. The motor mounts from Dave's came in and I am waiting for the adapters for the tranny to the dana300. I am ordering the fuel lines...

    One piece axel conversion

What axle and type of bearing are you using? Typically you press the bearing all the way on until it hits the machined lip near the flange. Then you press on the shrink sleeve and call it good. After that IF you have the ball bearing type you just install your axle and be done with it. If...

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

And that is the pump I priced out on Rock Auto which looked perfect. I am going to give it a shot and make my own clamp bracket for the tank.

This is a good option but too shallow for the poly tank. I would lose 2.5 inches of fuel capacity since this goes down to 10.5 inches and the poly tank is about 13.

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

I want to run a GM stock in tank pump for my fuel system and was considering modifying one from an early 2000's Suburban. The pump package is just a little taller and I think I can shorten it up to fit in my tank. Anyone have any feedback on this? Maybe another model truck or car that has...

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

I looked at your thread and it is amazing so far. I am going to stay with the Dana300 since I already have it setup for twin stick and I feel since the dana 44 dif sits further out under the frame so I am pretty confident the shaft will clear the pan.

$579 is not a bad price to have a clean new harness with proper routing. I think this is worth it.

The aftermarket harnesses route to the back? That would be much cleaner for the install.

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

I have scout Dana 44 axles and the dif sits further out than the Dana 30. I think this will give me the clearance I need.

    Just bought an LS drivetrain.

I just picked up this LS/4L60E combo to install in my Jeep over the winter. This was part of my original plan when I rebuilt my Jeep but the budget forced me to stay with my 6 cylinder at the time. I did swap in an AX-15 and installed a Howell injection system that I got for a good deal but I...

Axle Rebuild - Gear Replacement Necessary?

I have rebuilt quite a few axles myself and had a set with 50,000 miles on a rebuild that I used the old gears. Do a pattern check before removal and then do one again after assembly. I would put money on it they it stays very close to the same. If not then just shim accordingly.
