A "twin stick" transfer case allows a lot of things that the traditional single stick cannot easily accomplish. The main reason I do it to all my gear driven t-case rigs is to allow 2wd Lo without spinning the front shaft through open hubs. Having the rear output selector isolated from the...
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for all the blessings you give us, and the pleasures of life you have laid before us to enjoy as your children. We place our worries in your hands. We place our sick, Ken Adams, under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again so...
I think it's a question that you'd get a dozen different answers to since it's somewhat relative. Also, you may be able to reference the cowl since that should be the most rigid point, and assume perfectly straight sides. I'd measure mine for you, but I have a slightly bowed bedside.
The "boomerang" shackles were developed for, as the MORE pdf mentions, "anti kickback" of the leaf springs. If you've even owned a YJ you've probably bent a top leaf due to running the shackle into something or drooping the suspension then coming back down and inverting the front shackle, or...
Would there really be enough interest to justify the work? If so, I know a guy with an 8 that needs a cage, who just so happens to have CAD access, and has a friend with a Tube Dragon and hydraulic bender.....

I've contemplated the 6.2/6.5....basically every time one pops up on CL/FBM. The size is decent, and they can be mileage monsters if set up correctly. However, the roughly 700 lb dry weight is a bit much for Jeep territory, and the power potential isn't great. I drove 6.9/7.3 IDI Ferds for...
That's one of the bigger advantages...especially when driving a manual. The low end grunt really helps pull through things rather than feathering the clutch. When paired with an automatic, the torque issue isn't as apparent and it is more a weigh in on mileage.
There's a lot more to it than just what you have listed, like weight and speed and drivetrain type, but most R2.8 reviews I've seen put them comfortably in the low 20's on MPG when swapped into Jeep style rigs. I think most of the Ultimate Adventure (FourWheeler media group) guys report upper...
I have a soft spot for the B-Series Cummins (4BT-6BT), and the R2.8 looks like a great little mill, even if having nothing in common with the B-series cousins....but if it weren't so foreign to adapt accessories, I'd personally look at the Mercedes. The OM617 is neat in its simplicity, but it's...
