That is the exhaust check valve for the air pump. It either needs to be replaced or removed and sealed off-

You really should do some more investigation or reading if you want to call BS on cam problems. Specifically, the American Engine Rebuilder's Association (AERA) Bulletin #TB2333 addresses this specific issue. There also is quite a bit of other information out there that relates to this issue...

I personally would wait longer than 5-6K.

The air box is hard to get a complete pic of but you can image how it fits-

My airbox is still partial but this is what I have going on so far. It takes in air from the side vents-

The front 9" I had used GM Dana 44 outer parts. The rear 9" I had was also a Currie part. I don't believe the Bronco dimensions were the same as the CJ. I have some front and rear shafts that I had for spares if you ever need any.....

What good will the external PS reservoir be when it it lower than the pump reservoir itself?

Holley makes a nice retrofit pump kit too.

We have been using PSI for about 8 years now with no issues. https://www.psiconversion.com/ I agree. That is one of the few reasons that I do not like using the factory harness.

The issue with reworking an original harness is the wiring and all of the connectors are very brittle. I'd rather start with a new harness and connectors that runs the ECU off of the rear of the engine instead of the drivers side front area. That is my preference though.
