It's not raining today so I was able to get some good photos of the final result.

Interior photos of the Safari Cab? But the "interior" is the outdoors when the hard side panels are off and the roll-up sides are on :).

A Scrambler hardtop is 9" longer than an LJ hardtop. Speaking of Scrambler hardtops... For 5 or 6 years, one of my daily drivers was a 1983 CJ-8 with a Jeep factory World Cab on it. I really liked the styling of that Jeep, but I wanted the modern features and amenities of a Wrangler, so I...

I don't have plans to try to interest any companies in this project or any of the individual parts.

    LJ-8

Yes I did. First I made a mold of a factory CJ-8 emblem and molded one in urethane. Then I filed off the "C", and built an "L" using styrene. Then I made a mold of the resulting LJ-8 emblem and molded my final emblem in urethane.

    No, I've never done that.

I do these fiberglass projects as a hobby, I don't sell anything, sorry. Sometimes companies license my designs/molds and bring the product to market, but I don't expect a company to market a CJ-8 Safari Cab. The small size of the potential market for it wouldn't make a company's investment...

Thank you very much. That was exactly my goal in building this - all of the reliability, technology and amenities of a modern Jeep plus the classic styling of the CJ (and the classic styling of the CJ-8 World Cab with the Safari Cab :)). My goal was for this to look like it came from the...

I would but the LJ has plenty of cargo capacity for my needs :).

Here are few shots of the engine compartment. Everything is in the stock location. Since the CJ grille comes with a fitting for a cold air intake, I plumbed it to the LJ's air box.: The radiator cap is off in these photos because I just refilled the radiator and I'm running it up to...

I know it's not a CJ-8 so maybe it doesn't belong here... but here are a few photos of my just-completed LJ-8 project. On the back, an LJ-8 emblem:

These are hemmed carpet, intended to install with Velcro. They do not have a rigid backing material.

    Tire carrier/gas can holder design

Thank you. I've got the CJ Grille kit parts painted, assembled and ready to install, they're sitting in a spare room waiting to be bolted in place in the LJ: The only reason I'm waiting is that I recently designed a fiberglass bolt-on flat fender kit and they've been picked up by a company...

    1981 Expedition Build

Andrew, As you requested, I took your color swatches and applied them to a Scrambler drawn to more-or-less resemble yours... enjoy.

    Tire carrier/gas can holder design

Way back to WWII, but I haven't seen too many mounted here in recent years... The doors clear the cans just fine; the door straps stop the doors with plenty of room to spare. Yes, this hardtop has been a great place for a rack or a roof-top tent, I've used both up there. I typically carry...

    Tire carrier/gas can holder design

This one's on an LJ but the concept can be applied to a Scrambler as well so I'll offer it up for consideration... it's a non-traditional way to carry a jerry-can that's worked out very well for me. The jerry can mount slips into a receiver that's bolted to the Jeep's frame. I've got one on...

Will TJ front bumper fit CJ.

Was browsing a catalog and came across this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/smt-2812. Looks like a good way to adapt a TJ bumper to a CJ.

Will TJ front bumper fit CJ.

If I remember correctly, holes don't have to be drilled in the frame, but since the TJ bumper is taller than the front of the CJ frame, when I did mine years ago I put spacers under the frame/inside the bumper to make up the difference. I think I also had to drill new holes in the bumper...

    Hollywood Alaskan Postal Sighting

Rented the movie In Frozen Ground at Redbox last night, look what made a cameo appearance: Movie takes place in Anchorage, it's about a police investigation of a serial killer, this shot of the Jeep lasts less than 10 seconds, it's not central to the story in any way. But nice to see a...
