Thanks, FlagJeep. Sorry for the delay in response...tis the season. I am on the fence with it. I have 5 bad sleeves (under $30 for sleeves). The factory sleeves that ARE good fit my new urethane bushings great. I am concerned that the aftermarket sleeves may not be an exact fit on the outer...
color codes
By the way, when you stated decals I was assuming you meant the stripe kits. If you just meant the logo decals on the "Jeep" name in front of the doors then I am not sure.

I have a chart that lists the name for the color codes. When you find it on the firewall there is a 2 digit code for the body color. For 1985 my chart lists white colors as follows: Color code 3D is "Sterling Metallic" and color code 9B is "Olympic White". I asked about the decal color in...
Hi, all. I purchased a urethane body mount kit some time ago for my restoration. It looked pretty good and had some metal sleeves molded into the bushings. However, it looks like the original inner sleeves from my OEM mounts are needed to finish the job. Most of mine are ok and I can use...
Mask/paint/remove
Hi, I am doing this now on mine. I am carefully masking off the circular OD and painting inside of that masking. Then, carefully wipe the logo and any missed areas from masking with a rag and thinner. Do not wait long after painting though. I have seen this technique used...
Hello. I purchased a set of 5 chrome factory rims and center caps recently that already had most of the old clear coat removed by another Jeep enthusiast. I have read some posts on the forum about restoring the wheels and whether to re-clear coat or not. I think they have a bit too much shine...
Found it.
For anyone else who may have this issue question in the future, the picture I have does seem correct. I found two pictures of other peoples' setups and the vertical play is the same in theirs too.
Sincerely,
Mark
Oh
In the photo, the far lower part shows the studs for the main tranny mount that attach to the skid pan. The top part of the far part of the image shows the "W" shaped bracket that attaches to the bottom of the transmission tail. The bottom of the near of photo shows the stud that attaches...
Pic of tranny mount slop
Hi again. Here is a photo of the secondary transmission mount. The bushing I am using came with a rebush kit. It doesn't look correct to me. Any insight or help would be appreciated. If I didn't upload it correctly, sorry, please let me know. Thanks.

Thanks. Mine has the "W" shaped part you refer to...it is what the main tranny mount is attached to. It has two bolts connecting it to the tranny/transfer case. My main concern was with the single mount that is located to the driver's side of it (a few inches from the main mount). I have 3...
Hey, all. It's been a while since I have posted. Sorry for that, economics prevail. Anyway, I am putting my "Bessie" back together and have a question about the transmission mount for the automatic TF999 on my Jeep. My Jeep has the large OEM skid pan mounted on it. There is a 2-bolt main...
These days with a good paint it boils down to what you are painting, from what I have learned. If you are painting a solid color, the PPG single stage is all you need. The painting process is simpler and the guy selling the paint tells me it will last as good as the basecoat/clearcoat and...
Hi, all. Sorry if this has already been talked about, I searched the forum but maybe my search words aren't right. I had to replace the gas/fuel tank during my restoration, it had holes in the bottom after I cleaned it for painting. I am transfering/replacing everything to a shiny new tank...
Hi, I am looking for the dimensions from bottom and left side edge of the dash panel to the center of the clock and tach. I have searched the forum for this but most of the responses refered to a website that is no longer available. There was one post that someone had written out the...
Hey, tried to send a PM, not sure if it worked...I thought I hadn't done it before but I must have a few years ago, just forgot. Thanks. Let me know, please.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried the website but none of the website's links are working. Not sure if it is out of business or not. If you have a number I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
