The Postal had a beefier factory set-up, too. I always assumed that was for all the weight it carried, but now I wonder if they beefed them up factory for the weight of the top as well?

I'd have to go look again, but I think it's 10 in the rear? They did not come from the factory like that. This was a true "Outback" rig used in the SW Territory from what I've learned. It also was a dual fuel rig, running on petrol and propane, so it had a large propane tank mounted in the rear...

    Hey from Australia

Hey, Buzz! Awesome looking rig. I know of at least one other rotting on Australia's east coast. It was factory made that way from what the original owner told me. It was too far gone for me to bring over here.

So there's a little catch switch you can jimmy if you stick a flathead (very small one) in the second hole/slot from the right. Then the cylinder slides right out with no more disassembly of the column. Unfortunately, the lock cylinder didn't fit. They looked identical in size/shape, but...

    Road Trip Coming

Spent three hours plus unloading the U-Haul this morning. Back is shot. Can't stop though. Going to pick up tools now. I leave for Detroit at 5 AM in the morning for work, so time feels like it's already slipping away from me. Hopefully I can make all this work in time to get the truck trailer...

Ok. This was first sold in 1985, but I checked the VIN and it is indeed an 84. So that's settled... I need another tool, huh? The cylinder is easy to get out of tj's... Just my luck. Thanks for all the input and offers of help.

    Road Trip Coming

Ok, so just got home... Steering column is locked, key broken off in ignition. I tried shoving the rest of the key in there to try to get it to turn, no dice. So no starting, no steering. I need to get it off the trailer so I can return it and have through tomorrow. Suggestions? Can I get to the...
