    4.0 with Speedhut gauges?

I'm looking for just the fuel and temp. Does anyone make a quality version of those? I've tried "Omix-Ada" but they didn't last long in my jeep...

    replacement guages

I replaced my failed oem Temp and Fuel gauges with "crown" replacements, and they were junk (only lasted a few years). I don't necessarily need the oem look. So what is the best way to replace bad gauges (Temp and Fuel) in the Speedo cluster)..?

I'm curious Randy, what kind of engine are you looking for for your Scrambler?

Do repeat valve problems mean I'm pushing my 6cyl engine too hard!?

So I hear that lugging and high gearing ratios could contribute to valve issues (too much stress on the engine and/or heat..?) Or if a timing chain is sloppy the valves with get abused..? Anything else that could cause this issue?

Do repeat valve problems mean I'm pushing my 6cyl engine too hard!?

Here's another way to ask this question: It seems like a factory 4.0L can run 200k-300k without ever having a valve (or other major problem). It also seems like guys who modify their engines are often running into problems and breakdowns. Is it generally true that this modification (4.0L head...

Do repeat valve problems mean I'm pushing my 6cyl engine too hard!?

Yes, I have been worried about lugging. However, I do not use overdrive unless going downhill or the RPM's are above 2000+. It's hard to tell if this engine is lugging because it never "knocks/pings" or makes noise. Yes, your green Scrambler sounds like my situation. I usually enjoy 17-18mpg...

Do repeat valve problems mean I'm pushing my 6cyl engine too hard!?

Hey guys, I'm wondering if I push my engine too hard and/or are under-powered? Or if I'm just having some bad luck. I really don't want to be messing around with engine problems. I want something that works reliably. Here's what I'm running and here's what's happened: Original 258 rebuilt...

SPRINGS: OME (new) vs. Pro-Comp (used)

Sounds great. Were you previously driving it with other springs?

SPRINGS: OME (new) vs. Pro-Comp (used)

So, you didn't have the opportunity to compare the OME to other springs? CJ are notoriously a stiff ride, so if your comparing it other vehicles, OME might not seem like anything great..

SPRINGS: OME (new) vs. Pro-Comp (used)

thanks, yeah could be the "Heavy duty" option was overkill. Without a winch, I would not do it on the front. I might go heavy duty on my rear, because I have a full hardtop, roof rack, and gear in the back...

SPRINGS: OME (new) vs. Pro-Comp (used)

So everyone raves about OME springs (YJ strings on a CJ). But does anyone have a direct experience going from Pro-comp (or equivalent) 2.5" lift CJ springs to OME? I ask because my current pro-comp springs (with plastic slider disks between the leafs) are now about 15 years old, and perhaps...

    Windshield gasket and frame issue

I just had a new windshield installed. When they put the new one in, I noticed a bit of rust in the windshield frame. I also see that between the windshield gasket and the windshield frame, there is a gap...that water can go into. On the one hand, if left the way it is, water can go in, but...

    ignition lock cylinder

So I'm about to go out of town on a roadtrip, and haven;t had time to look into this. The idea of Hot-wiring is not something I want to be putting out there or encouraging in any way. But in an emergency, I'd like to know I have a backup plan. Is it really as simple as bridging the two relay...

    Dumb Question aobout shocks

How often should they be replaced? I've got at least 10 years (with lots of Utah wash-board road miles) on the current ones. The jeep does not do the obvious lunging over speed bums that a sedan with worn shocks would do. If anything, it feels STIFFER not softer. Time for new shocks?
