Dumb Question aobout shocks

How often should they be replaced? I've got at least 10 years (with lots of Utah wash-board road miles) on the current ones. The jeep does not do the obvious lunging over speed bums that a sedan with worn shocks would do. If anything, it feels STIFFER not softer. Time for new shocks?

Any recommendations for good shocks to handle the high-frequency vibration of washboard roads?

Push a corner down and release. If it goes up-down-up-down-up, you need new shocks. If it goes up and stabilizes, they are fine. In between is a judgment call on if they are bad.
