PGA Charles Schwab Prize CA - Jeep Scrambler

I just went up on their website. They,ve got a handful of Scramblers for $275K but the one that is absolutely nuts is the Grand Wagoneer at $435K. My wife asked who would pay that for a 30+ year old 4X4. I told her that this guy would probably have a billion in disposable income. Bragging...

    Rear Scambler side badges

Those are pot metal badges, if I remember. Collins Bros. Jeep sells them. Kinda pricey, as I recall.

    Starting on a journey

I love your journey. I lived in Petersburg, Alaska for quite a while. I learned how to fly there, and spent many years working from one end of the state to the other. Also spent time in the Yukon back when it was easier for American helicopter pilots to fly in Canada. I always tell anybody...

Heavy Duty motor mounts for 4.0 for CJ-8

On a footnote, because of Big Walton and Timo439, I just upgraded my membership to Gold. Been wanting to do it for a while, but this act of kindness pushed me to get it done. In fact, a while back I tried to upgrade to a Lifetime Membership. No luck. Oh, well, Gold is just about as good...

    $25 7" H4 Headlight Upgrade Kit

Glad it worked out, Kim. Obviously, shipping charges will be different, but my invoice was $31 for the set. Couldn't be happier.

    $25 7" H4 Headlight Upgrade Kit

Well, boys and girls, I ordered mine through Toyota Parts Express. Ordered on Tuesday, shipped on Wednesday, and confirmation of delivery to my house this coming Tuesday. Just in case you don't want to make a trip to the dealership.

How to become a CJ-8.com supporting member or vendor

I must be missing somethng. Upon opening the "Membership" tab, there is no reference to the lifetime membership. Am I just suffering from CSS? Thank you.

Another Scrambler Purchase/Road Trip - UPDATE- BODY ON FRAME AGAIN

Full doors, not bad. The wife and I can still hold a conversation. Half doors, peacefully noisy.

    Thoughts on the 360.

That is a clean install, although that has got to be the biggest HEI distributor I've ever seen. Nice work.

    Thoughts on the 360.

Thanks, rubclt. My comments on the 5.2l and 5.9l came from my initial thoughts on this potential build. 360's seem to be a rare breed but, more importantly, by the time you add in EFI, headers, cams, etc., you've got a fairly expensive engine. That being said, those costs are more than offset...

    Thoughts on the 360.

I'm thinking of starting another build. I've located a tub w/doors and a clean title. My thoughts were to build my own frame and, while trying to keep with the AMC theme, power it with a more current EFI/automatic drivetrain. I like the 5.2 in my Grand Cherokee but the transfer case...

    Thoughts on the 360.

Slightly off-topic, but has anybody swapped in a 5.2 or 5.9 liter out of a Ram or Grand Cherokee? They seem like a good solution and readily available. Not sure about the adapter plate or if you would even need one. Just a thought.

    Title question

I just looked through some old DMV documents. Whether it was Washington, California, Arizona, Nevada, or Oklahoma, all of the titles were printed "Scrambler" and not CJ-8. All of the others were printed CJ-5 or CJ-7.

    Title question

Sorry, I thought I read non-matching numbers. Old age hitting hard.

    Title question

Just another note on your situation. These vehicles are old enough that they normally have gone through engine changes which means the "numbers matching" doesn't apply. Also, unlike newer vehicles, these don't have multiple ID numbers plastered all over the body and chassis.

    Title question

This might be a question for the DMV. I've bought a bunch of CJ's and in my experience, if the VIN doesn't match the title, the red flag goes up. I'm sure you know that the rivets holding the plate are easily removed and replaced so anything can happen. Be careful.
