    Best Roof Hoist?

Pretty simple setup! What are the back hatch hooks connecting to? It looks like the hatch is closed. Are you able to get a pic of the back? Thanks! George

    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

Yeah. In 2024 when we drove the Scrambler to Silverton through the heat in Nevada and Utah, we were slowly cooking our bodies and getting dried out from the wind at 75 mph. Our iPad and phones kept dimming the screen, then stopping the charge process and then completely shutting down from the...

    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

We've never been there either. Hoping we can get this in. You can see the fires in the image below. Our route is the purple line. As of today, the "Coleman Creek" fire is 95% contained after burning 308,863 acres. The "Big Grass" fire is 85% contained after burning 579,008 acres. Smoke...

Glad your back home safely. Bummer we couldn't connect but In-N-Out is always good. The Grapevine can be a tough climb - especially with the vapor lock issue - you never know when it will stall. The bridge scene in "Stand By Me" was filmed here in Shasta County at Lake Britton. The serious...

    Well finally start building

Yes, mine is made by TrailQuest. I bought it around 1998 when I first build my Scrambler. I think they are long gone. It holds 22 gallons. (maybe a LITTLE more) It's a good tank. I bashed it over the Rubicon a lot. A few minor dents in the skid plate but the tabs bent. Since I have a 1"...

Glove box door slider hinge mod for cage clearance

Yes. The dash worked out great. And the Autometer gauges are fantastic. My Scrambler never had a working fuel gauge, had intermittent fuel and temp gauges and these also look great at night with the LED bulbs. I added an Autometer LED dimming module but if I set that right, the normal...

    Voodoo Blue 82 Complete Refresh

In an effort to drop the heat coming through the floor of the Scrambler, I am doing a few things. First, I had the exhaust shop add some heat shields above exhaust pipe under the footwell and seat areas. I did that only on the drivers side to see how much it helped. I also had to use header...

    2tall's Scrambler Journey

It sure is! Thanks for posting your BedRug install. I just ordered the same kit for my Scrambler. Also ordered some DEI Heat Shield under it after testing a small piece. Hoping to make the AC more effective after the heat soak happens on those 100+ degree days. I'm posting more details of...

Glove box door slider hinge mod for cage clearance

Since I was getting a custom dashboard cut by Double D Fab, I had him move the glove box over and swap positions with the right side speaker. So now my cage sits in front of the speaker, and the glove box is easier to get to. This is the Tuffy locking glovebox.

    Well finally start building

When I rebuilt my full doors, the vent window pivot was rusted through. In case you want the option or for future builds on the forum: Purchased new vent wing windows from Summit Racing. They were the lowest cost at that time. Passenger: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/FCD-D4025 Driver...

    CJ-7(6.0L AX15) with a TDK frame build

That's for sure! I used that same spot to mount the ECM for the Chevy 350 TBI I put in. Fabbed up the black steel guard so my toes don't knock the harness connectors on the bottom of the ECM.

You are definitely on a grand adventure! The Jeep is looking great and it seems like you have the right attitude to pull this off. Thanks for posting your updates here. I will be eagerly following your journey. I know that heat and how torturous it can be. In 2024 when going to the...
