I had a 268 Comp Cam in a 401 it was a beast. at 1800 it was hang on baby here we go. It would not idle below 1200 good for a manual not so good for a automatic with 800 stall. I put in a comp 260 it's a slug.
I got the last STC top before they went out of business. I wsed the Bestop doors they worked better. I still have the new STC doors. I could take the whole Jeep to Denver for a fitting.
When CB's first came out in the 70"s they said you needed a license for them. I have never had one and never been asked for one. I don't see the need where are the GMRS cops?
If now your window cranks are to long with the cage. Go to the junk yard. old fords and dodges had crank out wing windows with little cranks and the correct splines you need late 50's early 60's. Usually the station wagons.

I would in a Heartbeat. You said the CJ5 body is bad I would make a great Scrambler you could have much fun in, the CJ5 is just to small and outdated. Run it and enjoy it.
I had a 304 for years before I went to a 401. I had a stock 258 with the motorcraft 2 barrel. There is just no comparison between a v8 and 258-6. Yes the 258 will chug along all day but that is all it will do. with the v8 you have that reserve power to step on it and get going. I don't thinlk...
In a partial defence of Mark, I have tried to change my log in name with no luck. I even sent e-mails to the adminstrater with no reply.
I considered doing the same thing: Leave the old log in dead and register a new one.
Now I just gave up and don't post much.
