    1981 CJ8 Project “Penny”

I would sand those down and start over the product you used made them way too dark it will not look right. All the factory did is clear them.

4.0 hype they don't make em like they used to

Yes and to support this diesel engines never really go past 3000rpm.

    MDJuan CJ8 delivered

I know you won’t but I strongly recommend you sell that MD tub and buy a donor scrambler from out west.

Crappy factory paint and moldy interior

Why such poor storage for such a low mile scrambler? That’s the real problem. If you don’t get it in dry storage with a dehumidifier you can expect it to continue to deteriorate. A cover won’t help your problem.

83 converted into a brush fire truck, seeking estimates on value and interest

I see 12-15k. Rusty and tons of modifications. 25-30k will never happen. I get it has some novelty to it but it’s not worth more than a nice original without modifications.

    CJ-8 Registry

To not do it because there isn’t a huge value in it or the amount of time it would take is one thing but from a statistical analysis point of view eventually you would have enough data model how many are left unaccounted for. The numbers would never be perfect but it could be done. I just...

    Aftermarket hood???

There has actually been a few original hoods without them. Seen on original Jeeps. Not sure why but I know some got through like that.

New Postal Powertrain Plan - turbo/manifold & HP Tuners JTEC support or Megasquirt

You can only run 9psi boost on a stock 4.0L. At 10-12psi you stretch head bolts. While I like the added power 9psi get you it’s only around 2500 rpm and up. I have done it and wouldn’t do it again even for the sake of being different or staying Jeep. The best way to do it would be to...

TDK CJ8 Hy-brid frame with TJ the suspension, anyone?

I bought a TDk frame and did normal leaf springs. I thought long and hard about the TJ setup. What I couldn’t wrap my head around was it would be a CJ body on a LJ frame, axles and drivetrain(tcase at least). Sounds like a fun project if you have the time.

1983 Scrambler "STUMP JUMPER". Frame off, 5.3 Conversion.

5.3 can handle a lot more RPM before falling on its face than the 258.

Who is running 39.5" tire or bigger? please post pics.

I don’t know I don’t really see the point unless you cut a whole bunch more of that body. You cog is going to be so high for any real off-roading. Unless you don’t go off-road in which case it’s just for looks which cog doesn’t matter all that much.
