“Queso” 2023 Gladiator Build & Travels

Nice setup. Do you have an estimate on weight for just the top and your tent setup ? Not all the items you are adding, but where you are on those 2 items.
Thanks, the tent and rack are about 300 pounds…

I’ve been looking a little online at a couple of other brands. Four Wheel Campers and Topo Toppers.

@rubclt what paint did you use on the battery box when you painted it? It looks to be "textured", could be a 1/2 hardtop paint option on the 8........? Thx for the reply!
It’s Raptor Liner from a can. It’s tricky the first time so suggest practicing. Unlike rattle can you hold it 24-36” away. A thin coat top coat with black would work on hardtop. It needs top coat as no UV in Raptor Liner

After traveling to Rubicon and back, a few lessons and changes to prepare for the next trip. Need more access to power, new power strip, new 12v outlets, moved the outside outlet to passenger rear. For cooking added second propane tank, add microwave and induction cook top…

Looking better equipped than the AirStream I might add!
Thanks, the 200ah battery is key with 1500 Redarc Inverter. It really allows new way of camping with electric when there is no shore power, which is normal for our travels. Starlink mini and it’s just like being home. :)

The Mini does make life, ah I mean travel for work so much easier. That's a cool set up you have going on. Well thought out and ever evolving. Glad the Mrs enjoys it along with you. Mine is my home away from home. The 8 cu ft fridge and 6 gal hot water are nice. I freaked the kids out when I told them that it reminded me of a casket the way the curtains are pleated - they both realized it at the same time! Too funny!
