1942 GPW

Putzing around with the GPW when I got home today. Mounted replacement marker lights, attached the fenders to the grill so I can remove it all as one unit, installed headlight buckets, and added a blackout light mount to the fender. It was not one that was on this GPW originally, and the light is not correct, but that can be rectified later. I also attached the hood to the tub. May not stay attached, but there it is for now.

Have not done much recently, but in preparation for moving the tub to a different spot and moving the rolling chassis around, I needed to remove the flat tire. So I put on the chrome wagons from the Scrambler. It rolls around a lot easier now. The front wheels would not fit over the hubs. So it looks really odd right now. 🤣

Looks great out in the light. These rears are 235/75 (29”). I am sure I could fit 31s easily. And 33s with a small lift. Can’t wait to make real progress.

Since I am focusing on getting the Scrambler ready for wheeling season, I am slow on the GPW. I need to set the tub on its side and start foxing the floor. And clean the frame up and strengthen it. But that was not on the cards this weekend. So I cleaned the windshield. 🤣
You can barely see the shattered glass on the passenger side now. (Jk)

I have pulled the cage back out in prep of pulling the body back off. I may not use that cage or may alter it. I have tie to decide on that.
