Attempting to see if I need a rebuild on my engine

Got back from the mechanic only have a small few things along with a exhaust leak and a gasket leak I was told

You got no heat too, lines have been cut. Not that you need in LA.

I had them redirect my heater core because I was leaking coolant and antifreeze after the radiator got replaced

That's a lot of bolts holding that valve cover to the cylinder head for a 258, I'm thinking maybe a 4.0 head or at least valve cover??

Supposedly it’s to rusty and they didn’t wanna touch it in case it broke so I have to bring it to a muffler shop

Looks like you need a battery tray or you have a strange aftermarket battery tray.
Good chance there is a weber carburetor on the engine also.

I have the battery battery around the house I just thought that one died and needed a replacement for now but I have the tray on there
