Best Jeep Mounted Gas Can Solution?

So I asked for, and received a Daystar Cam-Can for Xmas. When it arrived with labels all over it about not being for use with gas or flammable liquids, I called and they told me that they didn't have certification to use it for gasoline and that the EPA BS was too much work, and they had decided not to pursue it. They told me they would give me a full refund. I like the idea of a gas can that is meant to be mounted (as opposed to the $20 Walmart cheapy I have ratchet strapped in right now).

It appears Rotopax does still make one that they have labeled and listed for gasoline; but the amazon review for the funky EPA compliant spout look awful.

Anyone have a recommendation for a high quality gas can solution made for mounting in/on a vehicle?

I use Rotopax cans and I agree their spouts are not that great. I like the flat can style, the mounting versatility, and the locking mounts though. How I have got around the lousy spout is I use a Super Siphon instead of the spout. I found that I actually spill less using the siphon than the spout and depending on how you mount the can you don't even have to take it off the mount to put the fuel in the tank. I have had my cans for several years and have not had a problem with the newer non vented model. My older vented can the vent cap leaked a bit but I sealed it up and use the siphon, no need to remove the little vent cap on the older can any more. I have 2 of the 4 gal. gas, a 2 gal. water and one of the emergency kit boxes.

I use the current NATO jerry-can ones that are metal and non-vented. They can lay flat or upside down, whatever, and not leak even with big temp changes. I can carry them in a rack outside, but around here they just go in the back inside with all the other tools, or up front on the passenger side. Available from Lexington Container. The spout clips to the handle, but it is simple to attach.

X2 on the NATO cans. Beware of the cheap knock-offs though. You want Wavian or Wedco brand for the real deal. BTW they are vented, but the vent is internal and cannot leak.

The newer spouts also have been messed up by EPA regulation, but you can still buy the old style spouts (they just say they are not for use with gas).

Never a leak from the metal cans, unlike the plastic ones. A lot of temp variation too.
