Black Oxide Bolts

So another member @mhinchliffe suggested trying Black Oxide on bolts after rust removal. Here is video I followed...

I bought this kit on Amazon Precision Brand

Here is my test bolt. Both are dash bolts that I soaked in rust remover for a day, cleaned and dry and follow video

Those look great. My biggest question is rust resistance. I wish there was a place that did salt bath nitriding close by. That stuff is darn near indestructible.

It similar to gun bluing... so you do apply light oil coat. Here is link for more

The kit includes a light oil as last step, doubt paint would stick unless you skipped oil step and put clear coat
