Did you pick that up from Rooster?
Yep, the YJ was in non-running from from Rooster. We texted about some parts for it. Did much to it, going to keep going on it. You're welcome to spin by for a beer sometime and see any of this crap?
So back to this, I decided to go with a Chevy 44 front, that I will cut to fit 27.5" spring spacing, SOA on stock leaves to run 35" tires.
I have a Chevy 60 front I can do, also a steering 14B front, but seems overkill when Chromoly shafts and good 297X u-joints will handle 35's. I love the look of the Orange CJ8 we did, so might as well.
I have two 2004 SD F450 axle to cut to TJ width, my 1974 D44 to cut, a early Bronco 9" to disk brake and stick in a Scout, and a steering passenger side drop 14B, that is looking for a home. It's axle shortening and truss week!
So, will use the Chevy D44, cut to 27.5" spring pad spacing, SOA, which means about 64.5" wide, like the Orange CJ8 we did. I also have a Dana 60-2 that is getting aftermarket JK 35 spline axle shafts, with Dodge 1500 rotors to stay 5 on 5.5" with disk/parking brakes.
The axle shafts:

Note they're double drilled and used in Ram 9.75"AAM applications as well. Using the late model bearing buckets/retainers, too.
I know, I am all over the place... but it all depends on what's available when the time comes. I owned both axles going into this and can modify them to take all off the shelf wearable parts.
