Does anyone have some close up photos of original center caps? I'm trying to restore some and hoping to get a good look at the face of some originals.

A close up of this would be awesome!!

That's great Jim! I really need a close up of the center cap itself where is says Jeep. Can you do that??

From what I see in your original post, yours look spot-on. Did you spray the centers then wipe with acetone or paint thinner to get the chrome Jeep lettering?

Are you just doing the center cap, or the plastic "chrome" as well? I'd like to do both so updates on the method(s) you choose would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris V.

That wasn't my photo, I stole it from another thread on here.

I am actually trying to decide whether or not to powder coat my wheels and center caps with a "chrome" powder coat color. I have a set of original chrome 15x8's that are in fair shape.
What do you guys think about blasting and then powder coating OEM chrome wheels?
I'm open to everyone's thought and opinions.

Thanks for the photos, too. That is exactly what I needed.

I researched this extensively when I was thinking of doing something similar... the biggest issue I found on all the tuner forums and ones that had very nice rims that they wanted "chromed" without chroming them was that when they powdercoated them, they came out a bright silver almost, not chrome... they looked good, don't get me wrong, but chrome, it was not.

Here is one example of what a do it yourself kit would look like. I agree that it looks good, but not really "blind you when it's polished" chrome.
