chopping a postal top

I was 😭 till I read that last part.

I thought about this a few dif ways but this I think is best. The idea was to prevent cuts near any strengthened / recessed areas, and not through the whole underneath support where possible. There really isn't one great way to do this but this is my thought. I'd be ok with 3 cuts across was also from side to side. Thoughts ?

um. ok. let me know if that's what you really want.

yes, sawzall is all warmed up; doctor is stinking of gin. Measured once, ready to cut twice.

Actually, have some chalk lines laid out and will try not to cut through hat channel; looks like a crown in top and that would be tough to make right again.

cut top between hat channel; sawzall straight. stuck blade behind the hat for kerf measurement; less guess work when making this all back up. didn't want to cut in front of seam over driver; didn't look like it could be made right what with crown in top.chop2.JPG

First in line for the rear door!!!

Cut looks good, should be easy enough to put back together.

I just heard from 40 below that the whole thing is being picked up within the hour which let me tell you has had a lot of moving parts and pieces to make it happen. fingers crossed.
