They matched the factory fairly well judging from the color of the engine compartment.

my wife loves this colour. does any one know what it is?

I'll take straight-up pumpkin orange...

it was supposed to be a factory colour for '83. thats what the people hinted at in their description.

I am 99% sure that is not a factory 1983 color. I have a 1983 Jeep brochure and it does not show any orange color. It may be a factory color- just not a 1983 factory Jeep color.
Best of luck.

It is not quite Persian Orange so it is not an Allis Chalmers Color.

But it looks a lot like Kuboto Orange. At least it is close enough to that color.

So if you want really inexpensive paint using farm implement paint in Kuboto Orange and Gloss black. It is very durable and about $35 gallon. Hard to beat combo.

looks sort of like 2007 Mustang orange to me, I don't recall Jeep ever offering a creamsicle orange, always the more red orange. If you could take it for a test drive you could swing by a paint supplier and have them chromograph it to give you a mix formula, or go collect a ton of chips and take it by the dealer and compare

we found a colur close to that called creamesicle. the owners indicated that it was a factory colour as it matched up pretty close to the under hood paint

thanx for the replies
