Cool thanks all. Im want to put the applique on my doors and use the metal piece also. I will just have the sign guy near me make up the stickers.

Since these are now only available in black, has anyone tried using SEM or similar to dye them?

My 85 Renegade in Medium Metallic Green apparently had them at some point as the metal surrounds are there, but I'm guessing the originals peeled because someone painted that area of the door with flat tan textured paint. It honestly doesn't look bad from a few feet away, but is obviously not correct.....

I got to ask. Was the Cj8 the only ones with this applied to the doors and were all of the 8's this way? Please educate

CJ-7's had it too, but apparently it was an option. Not sure what it was listed as on the window sticker, but my CJ-7 which was I believe a Renegade based on options apparently origianlly had them as the metal surrounds are under the door handle.

What is correct per the package but not necessarily what came off the line all the time is these textured inlay decals were standard with Laredo package when the hardtop was optioned. Although no mention of these on the renegade standard package list, it is my feeling that most renegades had them also when with the factory delivered hardtop. The copper colored jeep above is an 83 SR. My red renegade is an 85 CJ-7 and it also had them, in white to match the white hardtop.

'82 nutmeg inserts on a CJ7 Laredo:

Does anyone know where to find the nutmeg inserts and by inserts I am talking about the textured film that sticks to the door.

I think they're only available in black now. I would like to get some for my Jeeps too, but I have Honey interiors on all three Jeeps.

On the 85 Scrambler with honey interior, it appears the top color was also noted as honey, although the outside of the top looks a little darker than the interior.

Black ones that Austin jeeps has are the only ones that have the right texture. As Walker said correctly above, the cb ones don't have much texture but are avail in nutmeg and white also IIRC.

phoenixgraphic has them for sale in the nutmeg. I specifically asked if they were textured and they said yes. I ordered a pair and will let you all know how they are.

And yet nobody makes them in Honey.....:(

I'm interested in how you take the door handles off. any advice? or the inside panel for the matter.

Awesome sir! Thank you very much! Now you wouldn't know of something similar for removing the lights and fenders in preparation for painting would you?

Collins brothers sells the Phoenix ones. They have a little bit of texture but not like the originals unless they made a change recently. Looking forward to seeing what you say

Also, do you remember who made your handles? or what retailer you got them from? I want to make sure I get the heavier looking handle as well.

I bought the door handles and the felt window trim from J & G Classic Jeeps. George sells direct but you can look him up on eBay his username is cjlaredo.
