Reading what some of the prices these parts are going for just increases the paranoia I have about leaving my rig in a parking lot only to return with parts missing off of it.

Some A-hole unscrewed my CB antenna and took it with them parked in front of a burger joint a couple months ago... why can't those taser anti-theft systems be legalized?? Lesson learned about lock-tite'ing the next antenna... as soon as I find one that I like.

Update on the Super Jeep: current bid is $45,100 (reserve not met) with 3 days to go.

Wow, I'm surprised it's that high. I know it's rare, but........

In my opinion it really doesn't mean anything when the guy has a buy it now that high the reserve is equally high I'm sure. It doesn't really reflect its true value or any kind of relation to a possible selling price so bidding on it right now doesn't matter. I just bid 49,800 and survived nothing happened to me :bacon:

It is hard to believe auctions like this on Ebay anymore. There are so many shill bids from either the seller or related parties to try to drive the price or interest on the item up. Often you'll see an item "sell" for a high number only to be relisted again later and the seller stating the buyer was a "deadbeat". Only believe that if the seller has a long and good seller rating.

Don't worry, there will be "tribute" Super Jeeps soon after this--you know, those guys who take a bone stock CJ (or whatever) and make it into something it's not..... it's not a copy or a fake, it's a tribute--just like rust is patina and fat is full figured.... sorry, but $49,900 is silly money for this Jeep regardless of it's rarity.

Super jeeps are ugly anyway. I would rather make a tribute to 50 other jeep models than a silly super jeep

I'm putting all my money into YJ Islander tributes......the next future classic :).

You are SO WAY OFF. Everyone knows the next collector Jeep is the YJ Renegade.

Wow. Nice Jeep, but .......... Too rich for my blood. Meant for a museum.

How much!!!!!!
Interesting thing to me is that the seller Howes motors used to import Jeeps in the 70s/80s and they would of imported my Scrambler way back in 1981.
For some reason they shut up shop, although looking at this it seems they must of made enough money to retire anyway....

Wow! for that kind of money you could have alot of MB's. I'd be suprised if someone forks that much over. Agreed though, Cool history!

That's silly money for that Jeep..... I can see $75K with the provenance but not adding another 0 to the supposed value. Howe is fishing, nothing more, nothing less.

Ewwww maybe it will find its way into my collection.. Nice colors.....👍👍👍👍👍
