Guy selling them near me says they are not blue, that they are primer gray. I have the chance to pick them up fairly cheap. I notice the beauty rings and was wondering if I am looking at a set of blue wheels and he's just calling them gray.

Honestly I would just clean them up and sell them - no use to me but didn't want to pas up a good deal on possibly a rare set of wheels. thoughts on color? only pic I have

They look grey to me. However, I don't see holes for center caps which means they are 15x8 wheels and still worth picking up.

I agree - funny I just picked up a set of 4 15x8s last week twice as far from me. oh well, for the price I'm not going to pass these up. gonna grab them tonight actually.

the trim rings still throw me off though - never noticed them on "standard" wheels. but then again I am no expert! :)

They look gray to me as well. I assume you were thinking they were Limited wheels by the possible blue color and beauty rings? I looked for clues to see if the Cj was a Limited and couldn't see any. No liner in the hardtop. No black windshield frame. No Limited stripe or emblems. Standard windshield hinges. Also like Polarfire said not drilled for caps.

seller said these didnt come on that particular Jeep - said he's bought and sold CJs for parts for years. but for $100 and my time, I'll go grab them.

figured if they were in fact the blue ones from a Limited then icing on the cake.

I have 15x8s without center caps on my '81. of the 5 on it 2 of them have some pitting that even with powdercoat don't look perfect. may have two of these new ones powdered to match and have a "good set" on the '81. who knows, somehow I am becoming a wheel hoarder. picked up 4 other 15x8s drilled last weekend and have a 5th one coming from the TRUE HOARDER from this board soon :p

Guy in Arkansas on the local FB Jeep page says he has a set of sandblasted OEM 15x8's he wants to trade for the base stamped 15x6 steelies if anyone is looking for bare 15x8 Wagons.

picked them up. originally white then painted gray. beauty rings attached. great shape for sandblast and powdercoat.

The trim rings could be from any number of vehicles with 15 inch wheels. I have a set on my J10 right now that came off a set of CJ limited wheels.

yea who knows where these came from. The rings are in great shape so I'll try to sell them as well.

Mid 80's Ford trucks came with those wheels and didnt have centercap holes.

these are stamped correctly to show they are Jeep wheels like the ones on my '81 thank goodness.

The Ford ones had raised areas around the lug bolts too. Easy way to identify the Ford wheels.
