If you are tired of the squeek or the hood shuttering really hard when a semi truck passes the opposite direction, I converted over to TJ hood latches. Super tight and no squeeky!

This rubber coating looks like tool dip, but is hard as a rock....and pretty thick.

Anyway, the nuiances of CJ's is fun....worthless information...but fun nevertheless.

Guess that's why I like FSJ's more than CJ's lately....there is so much to know about.
