I reached out to GenRight about their aluminum rear body armor. They have discontinued them but would run a limited run of 10. This would be for blanks with attachment holes cut but it would be up to the installer to cut the wheel openings. The prices is $1000.00 plus tax and shipping. I will take two of them but would need the remaining orders. I have a new MD Juan tube and have decided this is the only way to straighten it up. Unfortunately much of the faults in the sides of the tub cannot be remedied by just cutting spot welds. The rear bed section was installed two wide and causes bulges in the sides. This require a ton of filler to bring the upper and lower sections flush with the bulges. I also didn't really want the added weight of steels ones. On another note if any one knows of another shop that can fab some radius blanks out of aluminum I'm more than capable of drilling attachment holes and cutting it to fit. Thanks Clay

I believe there is another company making them. Not a company I am familiar with, I think I saw it in a Facebook CJ8 group.
I would love a set but can can't justify that type of money.

Just received another email from Keith from GR. He said they could do an order of 5 but the price could be as much as $1200.00 per set. Barrys, I believe I've seen them but I believe they are steal. If anyone is interest just let me know. He said the sooner we got an order in the better. Regards Clay

How far do you need the armor to go from the rear corner forward on the body? I have a set I purchased off eBay many years ago and never used. Also, there are other companies that sell aluminum armor for other body styles. If they are sellers only or actual fabrication shops would be something to look into.

How many orders have you got? I've been looking for a set. Thanks - Dallas

I would like it to extend to the back side of the door opening. I've spoken with every vendor I can find that does aluminum and Genright is the only company that has shown any interest.

I might be persuaded to hop on the list. Genright has taken most CJ stuff off of their site at this point. Any pictures of how the aluminum corner guards look? Do they offer a paper template to cut out the factory wheel openings with the tool of your choosing?

These would be blanks long enough to reach the rear side of the door opening. If you go to their site and look at the blanks they sell for a Stretched CJ7, YJ and TJ it will give you a good idea what they will look like. There will not be any templates included and placement and cutting out the wheel well will be up to the installer. They will come with the attachment hardware holes cut and the hardware is included.

Anyone that wishes to order a set of these can contact Keith Lyon at Genright. customerservice@genright.com 805.584.8635 Ext 306 I'll purchase two sets so three more and we are good. He says he can do a smaller order but the price will increase a good amount. Please let me know on this thread id you contact him to order. Thanks Clay

I just emailed Genright about being #3 on the list.

I asked if the YJ fenders work for a CJ also, as they ( afore mentioned ) no longer have much for CJs. I remember those were interchangeable back in the day when people were disguising YJs with front sheet metal CJ parts, but not sure if modification would be needed for hole and/or radiator housing alignment.

I have a set of steel blanks (left & right - 3/16") made for a CJ8 that I never used. They go from the tailgate, curve wrap around the corner and then up to the door as I recall. $400 if anyone's interested. The wheel wells aren't cut out and it's too weird to ship. I live south of Los Angeles (Lake Forest) if anyone's interested. jcbothwell@gmail.com.

I'm not familiar with the GenRight product bur I have a set of steel Posion Spyder crusher corners I don't think I'm going to use. They have the integrated rear fender flare. I bought them 10 years ago and still haven't installed them. They've been stored inside ever since. Let me know KW if anyone is interested.

Are they Aluminum?

They do have CJ fenders, and I bought a set, along with TJ inner fenders. Hopefully more people sign up for the corner guards.
