Happy Thanksgiving y'all! We did this at work yesterday and it was fun:

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?

I’ve been bacon-wrapping our bird for years after trying it once, thinking it was sort of a joke. But the bacon renders exactly as the bird cooks and ends up cooked perfectly crisp and it bastes the bird the whole time, we literally never open the oven.



So it goes without saying that this is my favorite.

(I’d like to smoke it, but the kid always wants it roasted.)

Second would be either the green bean casserole or Kate’s family’s oyster stuffing.

I brined some Cornish game hens, now smoking. Currently have a turkey in the brine, will smoke for tomorrow’s Thanksgiving.

We really get into lots of different appetizers. My son just made baked brie with orange cranberry chutney, rosemary and pistachios served with toasted baquette, apples and pears. It's going fast even as I type this. Happy and safe Thanksgiving to all!
