Well last weekend I got the engine to fire, needs a carb rebuild so... I decided to just used everything from my CJ7. I got the body off this morning and the frame pretty much stripped to a bare frame the cracks are a little worse than I first thought, but still repairable.

Got most of the frame ground down today fixed one of the cracks in it, slow but steady right.
Also removed the gigantic cow killer and used that for plating over the crack.

made some more progress today, not as much as yesterday but, can't win them all. Jeep Karma showed it's ugly face to day, shattered the windshield, every nutsert for the body bolts were so rotted/rusted they all had to be cut, rear spring bushings are shot, and the rear spring hanger bolts all broke.

But here's what did get accomplished

Got the Scrambler out on Sunday, but due to not doing a complete PCC/PCI I went out with a set of dead batteries in the camera. It performed very well until I found a bottomless mud hole and a gigantic stump or rock in the middle of it, sheared off 3 out of 6 bolts on the skid and mangled it up pretty good. Here's the aftermath

You got lucky! You know the skid is also the transmission/transfer case crossmember...
