KISS Daily driver (keep it simple stupid)

Its called credit cards.
While it's in the yard I will have a safe place to store fuel incase there is another fuel shortage.
Gonna rename my Jeep the "Valdez"

Maybe strategic petroleum reserve. Would be good for the generator around here for hurricanes.

Love what you are doing with your jeep! Will be really interested to see your decisions going forward to keep it a 'daily driver'. I am restoring a 1983 with a similar mindset although mine will have a diesel engine. Great writeup on the frame preservation. I need to do the same after I finish my weld repairs.

Need some help
Running new brake lines on my build chassis.

Don't have a proportional valve. Please give me a link for proper one. OR I will buy a used one if you want to sell me proper one.
Thanks

Well I ordered a GM proportion valve, from Morris 4x4. No sure of the number, but really only choice. It came with adapter kit and no instructions. Couldn't figure out the bar they sent with kit. I just moved valve forward 2 or 4 inches, drilled holes through both rails of frame. Then I through bolted.

I finished up the install of my new brake lines from classic tube. Please look at photos and tell me if not routed correctly20220831_155355.jpg20220831_155333.jpg

I also have purchased my automatic transmission. I have chosen a GM 700R4. I used VHT SP 402 Burnt Copper to paint Trans and motor

Well I have made a decision on the engine. I have purchased a core GM 305. I'm aiming for about 250 brake horse power.
I been through all the arguments for a 350. Not for me.

The 305 will have 600 cfm carburetor on a manual fuel pump. Small RV cam.
This will make a durable fuel efficient engine. It is being built at this time.

That will make a fine driver. I used a Lokar shifter for my 700r4. Pretty happy with it overall. Make sure when installing to offset the engine/trans to the drivers side for front driveshaft clearance.

Nice 👍🏽mine was completely rebuilt & because it was an aftermarket to start with (I swapped out the original engine & 111,000 miles due to low oil pressure issue. Even after I swapped to an Elliott high volume oil pump..)
So anyway it already had been shaved and bored then. So my builder, awesome guy in Central VA, put in an RV cam at my request and delivered a very nice base for @Jeeperdd to install the Sniper on :woohoo:
So that's where I'm at waiting for the torque converter to be replaced because it "blew up" o_O
