KISS Daily driver (keep it simple stupid)

I will likely move to bottom hole, are the hangers mounted the proper way?

The "boomerang" shackles were developed for, as the MORE pdf mentions, "anti kickback" of the leaf springs. If you've even owned a YJ you've probably bent a top leaf due to running the shackle into something or drooping the suspension then coming back down and inverting the front shackle, or possibly the rear in certain situations...thus the boomerang design with the cross-bolt and tube was implemented to physically prevent the shackle from inverting. The boomerang design also allowed for a slightly longer shackle on the rear that could still clear the rear crossmember at full compression.

On a CJ rear spring hanger, there's nothing in the way to need to clear or toggle against so orientation of a dogleg/boomerang shackle really doesn't matter.

Moved my rolling chassis to my yard. Now I can clean and paint while getting a balance in parts account.

Went to a Jeep bone yard today to buy dash panel, so I can put my dash together with the new gauges.

The one at the radio cutout? If so, looks like they installed the switch in the left knob hole. It ‘might’ be an uncut dash. Lots were cut to install a single DIN radio leaving a large rectangular hole.

I agree it looks the original radio cut out with a switch in left knob hole.

Looks like an extra hole above the headlamp switch. And don’t know what that square thing is to the right of the Speedo- but that looks like a great find! Heck, there’s no CJ’a in any yards out here. Unfortunately, if a vehicle isn’t 2000 or newer, it goes straight to the crusher.

You’ll have to share your boneyard info with me if you can!

I also received adapter kit for my transferring case so A/T will bolt up. I got it from Advance Adapters. Very good service from them.20220414_160136.jpg

If you are thinking of selling the 20 gal tank my son's CJ could use a 5 gal upgrade.

I go up to toward Fayetteville NC quite often. We could meet there. I paid $200.00 includes skid plate and filler neck. Hoses were cut. I need a good transferr case to install on my chassis build. Does he have extra one we could cash and trade? Also need a rust free right front fender.

Well finally decided to install the Aerotank. No directions, but it could only go in one way.

The way it mounts to back frame could be an issue. My holes were wallowed out and such. I could not use carriage bolts in all the holes. So I put the shade tree on them, and nutted them to the frame. So now their is a space the width of nut between tank and frame.20220523_155250.jpg
