LJ-8

It's not raining today so I was able to get some good photos of the final result.

Still more. In this first one you can see the CJ-style cowl panel/vent grille.

A couple more photos and then I'll stop, I promise :). Comparing the CJ Grille Kit to the stock (and dirty) TJ front end.

Looks great! Is Retro Wrangler getting the CJ front end upgrade next?

That CJ front looks perfect! Awesome as usual.

Your work is always impressive.
I really enjoy following all your projects.

LJ-8 is perfect Jeep in every aspect.

Seems that the "Jeep 8" is very popular:

WOW!!! You have crazy skills.
Can I come live at your house? I'll sweep your garage, mow your lawn even. I don't eat much.

Great project and excellent craftsmanship. Love the attention to detail in this project.

I would buy a CJ conversion for my LJ in a heart beat...

It was almost 4 years ago that I finished the Safari Cab build and took some photos of the final result (September 2010). Today I got a couple of those photos out of the archive and retook them with the CJ Grille Kit installed. The Jeep has about 70,000 more miles on the clock now...

Much better with the CJ kit in my opinion.

While I was designing the CJ Grille Kit parts and making the molds, I also made one other variation of the kit - a TJ/LJ Jeepster Commando Kit. It uses the same outer and inner fenders and cowl panel, but has a Commando-style wider hood to work with a factory Jeepster Commando grille. I also did a replica of the Hurst Commando hood scoop to go along with it. Here are the parts bolted to the front of a TJ tub; I drew the Hurst Commando stripes onto the photo.

I don't have any "spare Jeeps" to install this version of the kit on, so I just consider it an "art project" :).

Maket the scoops for us jeep folk to buy......please!

So awesome! Someone should volunteer their TJ/LJ to try that out!!
