MDJuan Tubs

I'm glad to announce a major product improvement for the MDJuan reproduction CJ8 tub :headbang:

We owe this improvement to this thread and jeepforum user keith460. (Keith you are a godsend).

Keith pointed out that there is a problem with our rear splash pan/tailgate support os as we call it our rear cross members.

these are Keith's pictures.

We are now implementing the correct rear splash pan/tailgate support or rear crossmember.

Our old one was straight and did not have a depression to make way for the gas tank.

check out this old and new picture:

and check out our new implemented change side by side with the original.:

Guys, Again I thank you for all your help. And as promised I will implement all the changes and corrections that you will share with me and the rest of the Jeep community in this forum!!

I am impressed with how MD Juan is responding to feedback on this forum. Keep up the good work.

I think that provides room for the gas/vent/return lines to pass between the body and frame. Thanks to Spankrjs, I remembered his recent picture that shows this area, but on his picture, it looks like that indentation isn't there. Not sure if it was something different between years? From personal experience, the more room around there the better, it's very tough to work on those lines without dropping the gas tank.

This picture is from behind the rear axle, under the rear crossmember, looking up the driver side of the frame, same as the side that's being asked about. You can see the body mount just to the left of the lines that would bolt to the mount just above where you're pointing in your photo. The lines in this picture are disconnected from the tank obviously, which has been removed.

X2 on the space for the fill hose and vent hose,my recent purchase of an replacement cross support didn't have it but the original did so I am in the process of cutting and welding in the space maker

Noted on this. Thanks!

You can add me to the list for floor parts... I need all 4 corners and the main bed as well! Assuming they are the correct gauge? Hopefully quality steel?

I think it would be there for the lines that run to the rollover check for a 15 gallon tank. I have a 20 gallon tank and the space is not used for anything.

I agree. The indention is behind the fuel tank.
On my '83 with a 15 gallon tank that is exactly what it is for.
I'll see if I can post some pics.

Daryl Bensinger will soon be calling everybody for the prices and to take orders.

Cheers,
Rommel

Brilliant news! my build has stopped until body parts are obtained i just hope they are all affordable :fingerscrossed:

Thanks Rommel for taking the time out to do this for us cj8 owners.

Hmm, the price for the whole tub is cheaper than I expected, but the rear floor is more than I expected. I know it comes with all the cross braces, but it's still an expensive piece. It's a tough economic decision to make. Spend almost half the price of a new tub for replacement floors and still have to go to the considerable effort to install them, or just go with a completely new tub?

I'm with u. tub is cheaper than I thought, and floor is more than I expected. but, as u said it does come with the supports.
I wish someone who has replaced a floor would chime in about the pros and cons of this new offer.
