Nothing like a few days in a beach house to renew your drained batteries. We got back Tuesday night and I got some stuff done yesterday.
First was the Lokar adjustable sector lever and upgraded 5/16 heim joints and rod. Anyone who installs this kind of shifter really needs to consider ponying up for the selector lever. It is infinitely adjustable and makes getting the shifter to work properly so much easier. Shifter works like a dream now. But I still hate the push button knob.
Next I ran the fuel lines. I drilled out the aluminum clamps and used stainless 1/4” button heads to attach the clamps to threaded holes in the frame. I used anti-seize just in case. I have another pack of clamps on order, just to be safe. Really pleased with how this came out.
And...I realized I’m at that point in the build that we all dread and eventually get to- that point where you can’t find the parts that you know you ordered. The parts- a little bag of 20 rubber insulated stainless brake line clamps. I ordered them- I got them- I put them somewhere safe- and now I can’t find them. So, I ordered more. By the way- the easiest way to lose something is to put it somewhere safe... I’m guessing that goes along with spending 20 minutes looking for the 7/16 wrench only to find it in the fridge- right where you set it when you were grabbing that cold one. Doh.
