Just got my first scrambler. I've had Wranglers in the past but this is my first CJ series. She's a 83 scrambler with a 304 v8 flat bed. Needing to upgrade the wiper arms and wipers. I hear you can use YJ arms is that rue? Any recommendations for parts and accessories out there. I am looking to get the spare out of the flatbed and considering a hitch mounted swing arm like the ultra swing from rigd. Any thoughts on spare tire carriers or winches? Mostly gonna be used in the mountains as a hunting rig. I'm pretty green on this stuff. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. IMG_5810.jpg
 
Welcome aboard. Nice rig. I haven't seen that set-up before. At first I thought it was a CJ-10 cab but the space behind the seats is a bit too long. The wheelbase also seems closer to a CJ-7. Any info on how it came to be? Can you share many more pictures? You'll find this crew loves pictures.
 
I am by no means an expert but the VIN comes back as a scrambler. Not much on the origin story I am afraid. The guy I bought it from bought it as a flat bed.

I'll see what I can do about feeding the picture addiction.
 
I am interested in others thoughts but my guess is its a shortened/chopped CJ8 tub on a CJ-7 chassis. AMC didn't offer a flat bed CJ8. Still looks cool. Congrats!
