I'll be in Norman, Oklahoma for 3 weeks in May. Thinking about driving the jeep so I can go wheeling. Maybe Little Sahara, or Disney. Anyone in the area have any suggestions. What about Dallas, Tx area?
 
What days in Dallas? I'll be there the 1st week of May...

I'll be there May 8th to May 27th. Best opportunity would be weekend of 22nd (might go back home the other weekend). What's Clayton?

Clayton, OK has some good wheeling. You should definately try to make it out there if you are in the area.

If you are wanting to test out your stop and go driving capabilities, or your miles per gallon, then Dallas is a very good area to wheel.

If you are in town we should get a group to hit up Babe's Chicken Dinner house that BigWalton liked so much.
 
I have never been but I here Gilmer, tx has amazing wheeling. i am going to go up there this summer.

Gilmer has some really good wheeling. I would say that for the most part, the trails are rated a 3 or less. However, there are some 4 and 5 rated trails that are definately fun. One of the things that I like about Gilmer is the fact that you can camp on the property. Bring a tent or RV and stay for the whole weekend. Well, I'm in Norman, Oklahoma, but I didn't drive my jeep. 9 hours one way, plus wheeling, didn't seem like a good idea a week before Moab.

Maybe I'll still drive to Clayton just to check it out.

Or there's a truck show in Dallas.
 
There's not much to check out in the town of clayton. You kinda haveta know where you're going to find the trails around there, and in that I can offer no help, I just follow other people that know their way around.
 
You can always run out to grand and check out the wheeling, a lot of the spots you can get close to in a regular truck and then walk the last quarter or so of a mile into the rockgarden or waterfall (probably the best spots to watch people get a little crazy).
 
shoot, I shoulda been paying more attention to this thread. Randy, gimme a page at (405) 647-1042 and I'll give you a shout back. I'm in OKC so very close to Norman. We can meet up and grab a bite to eat, talk Jeeps...
