This was definitely a cool shot when we were all together on Tincup Pass. There was a lot of miss communication and frustration that day. Notice all the large tire guys on the left? They were sitting there for quite a while before the little tire guys caught up. There was frustration because certain people wanted to move along fast and others took it slow so we wouldn't rattle our teeth out. There were other issues too but I will not say them here. In reality, we should have broken off into 2 groups from the start. However, once we were out there it was too late to download any kind of map. It's ok though. Now we learned for next time. Whenever groups go out we should always try to find ways to improve on for the future.
Outside of the issues I did really enjoy Tincup and Cottonwood Pass. Very cool loop.
Doing Hancock Pass with the bikes on the back was certainly entertaining. We were going to park the Jeep and bike up the Alpine Tunnel to the West portal where the old train station is, but it just got too late in the day. So once we got to Pitkin from St. Elmo we took Hwy 50 back to Buena Vista. That was the part that I did NOT enjoy. Having the bikes out back, a rear auto locker with a stick shift, the rain, and driving the very winding road with no shoulder did not make a great combination. We took our time to make it back.
