Thanks to a good guy I know on the Michigan Jeepers forum (who's also on the Early CJ-5 forum), our project has gained visibility there, and there are some guys who want to contribute.

See thread here.

It's great to see the crossover support from another Jeep forum! This project is really gaining some momentum now.

Craig, I think this is REALLY KEWL that Sparky and the gang from Earlycj5 are so happy to "jump in" and help! Please keep us posted on how this turns out Bud!

These earlycj5 guys are steppin' up. :) We just received a donation (project@cj-8.org) from one of them, and it sounds like there are people who have probably sent PayPal donations to the other address (join@cj-8.org), as well. Click on the original link above for an update.

They prefer to be collectively recognized as "earlycj5.com" contributors, rather than being recognized individually. Sounds like they have a pretty tight-knit forum of good guys there, similar to our forum here.

Again, I'm logging all the contributors for a plaque or something that will be presented with the Scrambler when it's raffled off.

Thanks,
Craig

Sparky's a great guy. I used to wheel with him when he lived in Indiana.

Hey Rodney. I was just thinking about you today. One of the guys at ECJ5 was asking about taping trail rides. :D

Boyink is Craig's connection to ECJ5 in MI.

I'm fixing to mail a check tomorrow.

Lee,

You should be seeing donations rolling in right and left via PayPal and snail mail. So far, it looks like 11 guys from earlycj5 have contributed! Their goal is to get 50 guys to each contribute $20 ($1000 contribution total). :)

Hehehe...the secret is to *never* stop the camera ;) My wife ran the camera last time but refuses to do it again...feels like she couldn't fully enjoy herself, so I've gotta fab up a mount or something.

I didn't know Boyink was still around...cool.

who wants to buy my cj-6?

Mike, I've got a '58 6 doesn't run and is missing alot of parts, but is pretty solid on the frame and only missing some of the floor pans. Know anybody that is interested?

Doesn't have a title, but was last titled in SC and could easily be gotten with a bond or something. Wanting to clean up the old shop!

You could post a for sale ad in my classifieds section.

We have plenty of members in NC/SC area.

You need to be registered to see/post in the classifieds.

Where'd you get that? Sounds like my first 6 project...;)

Feel free to post as Sparky said on ECJ5, I'll also link/copy it to my CJ6 Blog. I know there are guys looking for 6's, but can't recall where they were located.

Hey, Mike- your old '6 is starting to pick up momentum. BB has decided on a drivetrain, but it isn't for purists.

Odd Lightweight Drivetrain

He just picked up a 8K mi '03 Zuk motor and complete harness and computer for $900 two days ago, so it shouldn't be to long now. (Get it?) The body will fit over the cage, and the rig will be able to be driven without a body if all goes well. Tryin' to keep it as light as possible to keep the same axle setup as is in his Sammi.

Sounds like an interesting setup - purists be danged...there wasn't much left of that old 6...;)

Hello fellas...Baby John here from www.earlycj5.com

Just wanted to say that your charity build up is envyable (sp?).

Glad to be a part of it.

And to announce that our group has summoned my services to help drum up additional support within our ranks.

I'll do my best.

You're welcome...that's $345.00 with my $20.00 and I'm sure we'll get more.
Is there a cut off date?

I might post a link to this on a MS Jeep Forum that I also peruse from time to time.

As a matter of fact there's a Scrambler for sale there now. I think it's an '81 with an LT1 (is that right) engine. I think the engine is from a Corvette or something like that.

Would you guys be interested in a link to that?

Thanks John. :) No cutoff date at this point, but the final project completion date is slated for June 2006.
