So after this, since there is some difficulties with the RR, what is a good set up for a tr & dl flip that is not to difficult to install and still be able to get t-rod ends for ?

If you follow the link Raymond sent to me; it describes the issues with the rr part better; but also gives a rec for an OK4WD part.

I did, so I went to theOK4WD site and saw the inserts and tr ends but didn't see mentioning of new stronger tr and d-link. I will go back and look again.

Minor upgrade....really been pretty low maintenance since the last round..

I always hated the oil filter air filters; but when I did my 4.0 swap I didn’t have time to go wading thru junkyards for a box that fit. Fast forward 2 years and the hesco oil filter is visibly filthy. Tim for an upgrade... After a bit of searching; I decided an OE YJ housing is the ticket.

It’s significantly larger; so something had to move. I decided I could find a spot for the horn a bit farther back. New box fits in place and almost lines up perfect with where the OEM inlet came thru the grill.


Now I just need to find a source for these stupid clips!!!

That looks similar to the one on my 1998 XJ, but the box shape looks different.

Regardless, I looked online and ran across this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009PQ91NC. Even though it is for a Mercedes, one reviewer said they used it on their YJ after they added a little more bend. If I see something better, I'll update.

Edit: Another reviewer said this one for a Nissan worked on their YJ, but it's more expensive than the Mercedes one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NYAX8VG

Edit 2: I didn't see it listed on their site, but Davey's Jeeps may have some they'll sell you. https://daveysjeeps.com/

I appreciate the legwork. The cheapest I had found on Amazon were $9.58 each... I couldn't quite stomach that. I ordered 3 of the mercedes ones; we'll see if these work
