Anyone near enough to DFW or Suphur Springs to hang out with me on Wed. night? I'll be there Wed and Thurs for work and I have nothing to do on Wed. night.

Just curious. I'll be at the lovely Super 8 by the airport if y'all know where that is. I have a rental car and could meet up somewhere provided I have good directions, although I will have flown in and driven 5+ hours out to Suphur Springs and back already, so I'd rather not go too far.

I fly into DFW in the morning and I have to drive out to Sulphur Springs for meetings that afternoon. Once I leave there, I have nothing going on until I have to pick up a coworker back at the airport on Thurs. morning.

So I'm game for anything between those two places...

Anyone?

Well, I'm coming and it's a three hour flight!!!

Where's the dedication???!!! :D ;)

Wish I lived closer. It would be about a 7 hour drive for me. ONE WAY
How ridiculous is it that you can drive 7 hours and not even be close to getting out of Texas?

Just got off the phone with Eric...sounds like he is going to be available later Wednesday...8 or 9ish. I'm about 3 minutes from DFW...so I'm definitely in. Anyone else around?

There's this sweet gray Scrambler I pass on 121 everyday going to work...never have figured out who it is or if they are on this board...it's real nice though.

I'm going to be just alittle late meeting up with you in the Dallas area Big Walt.. I'll arrive about May 2nd :D
Since your so dedicated why not wait for me .... :D
Hope your evening went well.

David, enjoy your new home!

Eric and I had quite the dinner at Babe's Chicken Dinner house in Carrollton. Family style chicken dinner...there are no menu's. You get family style veggies and then you pick from 6 meats. Of course on your first time you have to have the fried chicken since it's been featured in magazines and on the food network. The place was real good except for the waitress that thought she could sing and kept doing karaoke to country tunes...o and the dood that thought he could dance and danced with the chick that thought she could sing. Anyway.

It was a good time...got to hear the juicy details first hand of the trip from Alaska. And Eric got to see my no body having wanna-be Scrambler. Soon his axles will be helping my Jeep to legitimize herself. But she's just got a busted wheel cylinder so no brakes and smells like moth balls these days (see PB Blaster thread).

I think our waitress was hot on us... either that or she was seriously bored :D

We shut the place down sitting there talking Jeeps... GREAT food and a really neat place. Best corn I've ever had and the only fried chicken that's as good as Bullock's here in Durham... I swear it was the same recipe.

The soon-to-be-Scrambler looked great. My axles (which were picked up with no problems this evening) will have a great home under that thing. It's going to be one SWEET ride when it's all together. AFW frame, MPI, NV4500, Big Daddy HD steering, Aussie lockers, stainless slotted rotors... NICE!

Now if it can just get some kind of non-car (YJ) tub :D :D

Great meeting you man, great way to spend a night!

JP,

I thought Babes was in Rowlett or somewhere north of FW??? I saw it and another place on some Food Network show and went to eat there and it is closed on Monday, the day I chose to go try it....

Glad you showed Eric a good time.

Now that was Babes and not Baby Dolls, Right???!!!

TexasAg - I was surprised to find out that they actually have 5 locations now. I kept hearing on the radio that the one we went to was the most recent but apparently even another was opened up in Lewisville. So, you are probably thinking about the same one...maybe even the original.

I have been to both now and same experience at each. It was a good time and good food.

We tried to convince our waitress to get a 90's Cherokee, but I don't think she was having any of that. Always trying to spread the good word of Jeeps you know.

Ed, you NEED to go there one day man, it's GREAT food and the one we went to was just a cool place all around (except for the bad karaoke singing waitress, but at least she was funny).
