MDJuan Tubs

would it be possible to make the bed floor a full one piece unit.

this way instead of making a bunch of cuts and welds...you cut cut out the entire square and drop the new one in.

you would also have the ability to go ahead prime and paint it before it goes in..then do some post install touch up..

I would be on this one, if priced right :woohoo:

If yall figure it out I got five tubs I need to fix and would be interested in a bulk price.

Rommel, just wanted to thank you for coming here with the intentions of improving your Scrambler specific products! I have never understood have muscle cars and other vehicles that are commonly being restored can have every replacement panel available in the correct gauge of steel and also have it match the originals exactly. Yet when it comes to our Jeeps, replacement parts never seem match the originals pieces and are typically constructed of much thinner gauge steel than the original panels. I hope you can possibly make this not the case for Scrambler replacement panels in the future!

I have used your rear replacement quarter/side panels and the top lip profile of your panels do not match the profile on the original tubs at all. It is off worse than what the picture even shows.
photo245-1.jpg

The original quarter panels had a small flanged section that runs along the bottom of the panels in front of and behind the wheel opening. I don't have a good picture of what I am referring to on hand but if you look at the bottom edge of the original tub you have and then at your replacement panel you will see what I am talking about. It is my assumption this flange along the bottom adds some needed rigidity to the panel.

The vertical flange along the back edge of the panel where you are supposed to spot weld it to the taillight panel is not wide enough to allow a hole to be pre-drilled for spot welds.

As JeeperDD stated earlier, this raised portion which surrounds the rear wheel well opening was very poorly done and does not match the original. The contour is not the same, there are numerous dents, and the the raised section is much wider toward the bottom-rear of the panel.

For new panels, would it be possible to make a smaller section of the rear wheel well surround? Say, have the raised portion of the rear wheel well surround plus a few inches of sheet metal to allow just this raised section to be replaced instead of having to replace the whole quarter panel; which is currently the only option. I guess the whole quarter panel replacement wouldn't be a big deal if you can get the panel the exact same as the original. My hold up has been the replication of the current new side/quarter panel is so poor I have not wanted to install it when the only part of my current side panels which are bad/rusted is that raised section around the wheels. Often this is the case for most Scramblers.

Another panel option would be the lower sections of the A-pillar and B-pillar. You wouldn't necessarily need to make the entire A-pillar but you could offer the lower 8" or so which would allow the purchaser to trim down to the length they need. This panel could apply to the CJ5's, CJ7's, and CJ8's and is very common for rust. Here is my cardboard template of the section of a A-pillar I had to repair:

The B-pillars are also a section that commonly has rust, particularly the lower portion. You could offer potentially offer the entire B-pillar and make a piece that has the lower approx. 8" which could be trimmed to fit. I would be sure and include the seat belt mounting point too. This piece could be used on the CJ8's and CJ7's. Here is one of my B-pillars midway through repair:

Again, I just wanted to thank you for coming here to get our opinions and ideas on what your company can do to help improve upon with your replacement panels. Keep us posted on the updates and progress made!

I'd be interested in getting in on a group buy for the rear floor, rear wheel wells and the rest of the misc. rear bed/floor pieces as my rear bed area looks pretty nasty.

Thanks for posting the pictures. Impresive.

I would be interested in 4 of the rear floor repaires also.

FYI, we are collating all the interest in this thread and will come up with costings and prices for the parts that you are looking for. Like the floor panels, wheel wells, full tubs etc. So just keep em coming. We are listening. :)

This is a fantastic (and rare) thing for an aftermarket manufacturer to do! Thank you very much for asking for our input! I hope it is valuable to you for improving your product and possibly offering more options to us old school Jeepers!

I would be interested in the 4 Scrambler bed floor corners.

By the way MDJuan will be visiting the US in May. We will go to the Willys Reunion in Ohio on the 17th and prior to that we are actually planning on hosting a BBQ in Pennsylvania at our dealers Headquarters on May 11 (Sat) .

Quadratec has graciously offered their place to nearby Jeepers who can bring their CJ Jeeps over. And FYI Quadratec don't only sell the coolest Jeep stuff, they have a side business which sells BBQ Equipment! And they serve up a mean BBQ!

The purpose is for us to get measurements on the Jeeps and to discuss how we can improve the tubs in terms of dimensions and features. Let me know who can come. It's in West Chester PA.

I am also appealing to the Forum members who are willing to donate their old CJ tub which we can use as a sample to measure and bring back to the Philippines with us. We plan to pay for shipping and offer a discount on a new tub if your tub is chosen. We don't need a pristine sample, just one good enough to measure.

We need the following tubs:

1 .CJ7 Late (1977-85)
2 .CJ5 Early, Version A (1954-62)
3 . CJ5 Early, Version B (1963-69)
4. CJ5 Late, Version B (1978-83)
5. CJ5 Late, Version A (1976-77)
6. M38 (1950-53)
7. CJ6 Early (1955-75)
8. CJ6 Late (1976-81)

Quadratec also offered to chip in on some goodies and give coupons for the event.

Let me know who can come! It'll be fun

Rommel, I have sent an e-mail, hope to hear from you soon.

Sorry for the long absence. I came from China to visit some Jeep accessory manufacturers :) Regarding the CJ8 Jeep parts, we are costing them out now and we will announce when they will be available through our dealers.

Hi Donut! Got your email and have responded.

Cheers,
Rommel

Anyway, just wanted to post our biggest Hydraulic press here. It's 1200 tons. We use it to stamp floorings, hoods, fenders , rims and all the other big parts.

Hi Guys,

I had some panels prepared for you to see. These items will now be available all thanks to comments on this thread!

We can now arrange a group discount with our dealer Daryl Bensinger so that everyone here can get a better deal :)

Le me know what you think of the parts, as well as the deal :)

Cheers,
Rommel
