I am pretty sure this is the grille that is going on the Scrambler... I know, I know... a lot will be said, but I love the look of the Commando and the Scrambler and I want to make it one...

That is pretty patriotic, perhaps I should have put this under a thread of "show your patriotism!"

Fenders are going to be probably flat fenders.
Hood from the cowl area is a CJ.
Hood to the grille shell will be Commando.
I have done all the measurements and I think it will all work.
Once it is all together, put some louvers on it and I think I will have a solution.
It will start shortly, once the weather starts to improve.

New carb today. The MC2150 from ehrmannmp from Ebay. Only had to buy a throttle return spring and a couple new lengths of hose. A great kit and had the Old carb off, new one on, and running in under an hour. Need to tweak air/fuel a little. But she runs so much better and she is even quieter. So much better looking too. And I let my wife drive today. The 1st time since we got it. She loves it.

Total pocket response......

Did some car shopping over the weekend for my company car. Didn't Go so well. Every time we got to the figures, I found myself saying to myself........But 3k would buy MOPAR fuel injection and rear springs!!!

Finished the rosette welds on the YJ8 wheelbase stretch, I gave her an extra 1/2" wheelbase from a standard scrambler. Now I will stretch behind the axle and start putting her back together, and all the small stuff like drive shaft, brake and fuel lines, SYE, and likely an OX/ARB Ford 8.8.

Yes, she is a handful! I'll need lots of help in about 10 years!!

O that thing.. I believe I posted that on my hit with the ugly stick tread... lol

Sent from my SPH-L900

Used my winch to pull up an acre's worth of T-posts. That was the easy part. Actually sort of fun, just hook and pull straight up.

Reinstalling them elsewhere...not so much fun...

Just for anyone who might be interested... it has been done before, and it took some time, but I found the link.

CJ hood for a few inches, then commando hood, then CJ grille to accomodate the radiator as the commando grille is too big there, then use the wings on either side.
Flatfenders would round out the look.

I have some time coming up, I think i might start this foolishness soon!

The older two kids went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, so Suzanne and I decided to make the 15 minute trip over to the beach w/ the 2yr old. :smokin:

Nothing like cruisin' the Pacific Coast Highway on a beautiful day in the Scrambler...

Beautiful. But I thought CA was supposed to have waves! I can't wait for the top down driving days.

Hi Dain,

It was super-smooth yesterday... the wife actually said she would like to take up paddleboarding because we saw so many people out on these things, so I now have a project to figure out a surfboard/paddleboard racking system. Can't wait
