I know it's not a CJ-8 so maybe it doesn't belong here... but here are a few photos of my just-completed LJ-8 project.

On the back, an LJ-8 emblem:

Freakin awesome!! The convenience of a modern LJ but the classic good looks of a CJ! I want one even more now! Beautiful work!

Incredible work as usual.  Next I challenge you to make an LJ-8 with the body length of the CJ-8 :)

Here are few shots of the engine compartment. Everything is in the stock location.

Since the CJ grille comes with a fitting for a cold air intake, I plumbed it to the LJ's air box.:

The radiator cap is off in these photos because I just refilled the radiator and I'm running it up to temp to see if I need to add more antifreeze.

Thank you very much. That was exactly my goal in building this - all of the reliability, technology and amenities of a modern Jeep plus the classic styling of the CJ (and the classic styling of the CJ-8 World Cab with the Safari Cab :)). My goal was for this to look like it came from the factory this way, and still have everything be 100% stock mechanically so everything gets serviced in the usual way.

So do you make the safari cab for the CJ-8? Would love to get a hold of one!

I do these fiberglass projects as a hobby, I don't sell anything, sorry. Sometimes companies license my designs/molds and bring the product to market, but I don't expect a company to market a CJ-8 Safari Cab. The small size of the potential market for it wouldn't make a company's investment worthwhile.

Did you make the LJ8 emblem? I really need one of them.:smokin:

Yes I did. First I made a mold of a factory CJ-8 emblem and molded one in urethane. Then I filed off the "C", and built an "L" using styrene. Then I made a mold of the resulting LJ-8 emblem and molded my final emblem in urethane.

I was wondering what ever happened to your CJ front on a TJ/LJ. Do you think the fenders will ever make it to the market like your trailer?
If it is anything like your Retro, it DOES look like "Jeep" made it!
SWEET!!!!!!!

I don't have plans to try to interest any companies in this project or any of the individual parts.

Unreal looks amazing, your talents are endless

Does anyone know the difference in the length of hardtops for the LJ compared to the Scrambler?

Another fantastic project! Do you have any interior pics?

A Scrambler hardtop is 9" longer than an LJ hardtop.

Speaking of Scrambler hardtops...

For 5 or 6 years, one of my daily drivers was a 1983 CJ-8 with a Jeep factory World Cab on it. I really liked the styling of that Jeep, but I wanted the modern features and amenities of a Wrangler, so I sold it and bought the LJ. That CJ-8 provided a lot of the inspiration for both the Safari Cab project and the CJ Grille Kit project. I dug up an old photo of the CJ-8 for comparison...

If you look closely at the CJ-8, you can see I installed TJ bumpers, fog lights, mirrors and side steps on it, and an XJ rack on the World Cab hardtop. All of which are also on my LJ-8 :).
