Has that sold already, or did he pull it down? I'm sure he's gotta be on our forums, this lister always has a ton of CJ stuff on eBay over the years, garnet collections, you name it. He's been gathering stuff for a long while.

Edit: sure enough, best offer accepted: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMC-LEVI-BLUE-DENIM-SEAT-MATERIAL-NOS-SUPER-RARE-/261809044437

Seat material has a fuzzy back. That material is technically bikini top etc material. And he is a member on here too but haven't seen him post in quite awhile.

Jim - does that have Levi buttons or the plain buttons ?

Ok so u have the 1978 and down real Levi stuff. This ad makes no mention of whether its the 1978 and down Levi blue or the 1979-1981 denim blue. Both look like jean material, but the later one is lighter and after '78 the buttons became generic without Levi markings on them and the material color from that point forward is a lighter blue. For that kind of scratch I would hope the seller would be more descriptive

It's listed as 79 , but he said that the buttons say Levi
When exactly did jeep switch from Levi edition to Denim edition

Yeah so that's a contradictory statement. Jeep switched to non Levi for the 1979 model year across all models. No buttons that say Levi, no red Levi sticker on the side, and no orange Levi cloth tag sewn into the seats. The tan material was virtually the same but the blue material changed from a color closer to actual blue jeans to a lighter blue. I had heard from someone who worked at Jeep SE division back then that jeep got cheap and refused to renew the license, and therefore after 1978 just called it "denim" and dropped anything to do with the name brand.

That happened with the Scorpion edition as well. Turns out there were only a few made, making them super rare, before Jeep got cheap and dropped the licensing agreement with the band. There are thousands of post-Scorpion edition vehicles, 2700 I think, but only a handful of the originals.
