Great morning.... Went to the range with a great collection of guns to shot. A 1906 Winchester (from 1906). A 1022. My new Glock 43. A Springfield 1911 9mm. A Glock 17. A S&w AR15.

Getting used to my 43. Nice piece for its size, but wish I hadn't shot the 1911, can't stop thinking bout how nice it was. A lot different from the Glock. The 17 was to compare apples and apples.... But for a full size there wasn't really any choice.

The 1906 only shoots 22 shorts. Great fun shooting with my boy. The 1022 was his new gun, it's a great rifle. He was scared to shoot the AR, but wow, what a nice rifle.

Great Saturday morning!

Good day at the range is hard to beat... I put half a box through a recent purchase today, a Sig P938. Seems like a nice little pocket 9mm.

This is my 7000th post on here. Wow!

Can't beat a 1911. I love my Ultra Compact version from Sig!

My last reserve drill was a range weekend. Spent some time tossing government rounds down range. Always nice when you get paid to shoot.
Put a few thousand rounds through a 240b and about 500 through the new M4A1. Full auto is fun but not that useful in a rifle. :)

Nice.

I forget there are a lot of shooters here.

Ya'll should be scouring Walmart for deals right now. They're probably mostly gone, but some of the out of the way stores might still have some stuff.

Marlin 1895's in 45/70 were marked down from $578 to $299, and had a $50 rebate
Ruger American bolt actions were marked down from $388 to $199
Mossberg 390 shotguns were $487 to $299
Some odd and end Savage small caliber things were marked down
Nikon Buckmasters II scopes were $128 originally, marked down to $30. Seems to be mostly boxed versions 16338 and 16339
Bushnell Rimfire scopes marked down from $37 to $15
Bushnell XLT binoculars were marked down from $156 to $35 and had a $30 rebate ($5 bincoulars!)

Also UMC 45ACP in the 250 packs were marked down to $54

Love 1911's, can't stand Glocks. I know they're good guns, but I just hate the look, the feel, and the ergonimics.

Almost all of the stores around here are showing "Out of stock" on the walmart app, BUT if the item shows up at all they probably still have at least one.

Open Walmart App.

Search for "Nikon Buckmasters ii" It will pull up at $110ish but there will be a tab that says "at your store". Click on that and if you store has any it will pop up and $30 or $35. Will probably say "Out of stock" but if it pops up at all, there is probably at least one left. Once the last one is bought the item won't even show up anymore with a seach, so it it pops up at all, even if it says "Out of stock" there is probably still one there.

If none show up for your particular store, switch to a nearby store (little store icon at the bottom in the middle) and try it again.

Bushnell XLT will bring up the binoculars.

I have some older (probably early 90's) Leupolds and I think these Bushnells are just as clear as my Leupolds. Not a fan of the "bone collector" crap stenciled on the Bushnells, but for the price I won't complain.

I went to 4 stores this morning, and the first two had stuff but it was stuffed back in the back of the cabinets under the scope display case. The third store I'm pretty sure the clerk was holding out on me to buy the stuff herself, and the 4th store I found the box for the binoculars way in the back of the cabinet under the counter, but the binoculars themselves were gone. Most stores have a storage area in the back too, so if they can't locate what you need ask them to look in the back.

Best strategy is to ask the customer service desk to run the SKU and see if they show any in stock. If they say they do, go to the sporting goods counter. A lot of the employees are trying to hide this stuff for themselves or their friends.

Nikon 018208163390 (4x12)
Nikon 018208163380 (3x9)

Marlin 1895 Lever 026495011503
Mossberg 930 001581385128
Ruger 30.06 736676069019
Ruger 243 736676069040
Savage 93F 062654918032
Mossberg MVP Predator 2230015813277112

Lot of game cams seem to be marked down too.

Happy hunting.

Is this due to them going PC and removing those "evil" firearms and accessories from their stores?

Nope. They got rid of all that good stuff (AR's etc) last year. They had a similar sale and Wyndham AR's were $399, Colt's were $599 etc etc. Right now they're replacing the Rugers and Marlins with Henry's and Weatherby according to my local guy, who is great.

The Nikons etc seem to be more items that they're no longer going to carry. They still have Nikon Prostaffs, and the Bushnell 10x42 Binocs were replaced by 10x50's. Same thing on the UMC 250 packs. Just not going to carry that particular SKU anymore.

Just strolled through Wal-Mart. Didn't see any of that stuff. Still are not bad prices on moderate quality rifles. Less than 400 for a lever action seems reasonable if one is stockpiling pre election.

Around here the employees have stashed a lot of stuff. You gotta make them look for it!

Had a buddy check the store in his hometown for binoculars a bit ago. Same thing I ran into this morning! One showing in stock at the store, found an empty box with no binoculars!

Actually have more 22 around here than I've seen in a long time. 325 packs of federal, CCI Stingers, Std Vel, and Quiet. CCI short CB's, CCI 22 WMR, and winchester Super X in 100 round boxes are all available here at the moment.

It's not cheap anymore, but at least it's available.

Hard to compare the Glock 43 to a 1911...

I have a Kimber 45acp and love it but it is far too heavy to carry as my concealed weapon (it's my console piece). I had a 42 but handed that one over to my wife, I now carry a 43 daily. My best purchase at the Gun Show 3 weeks ago was my S&W Governor!! I absolutely love it and have already dispatched 4 rattlesnakes. It's a super light gun to carry when I am walking the dogs in the desert.

Yeah, I borrowed a Glock 17 too, and it was still no comparison. It was a pretty high end range master 1911, so not all that fair from a price standpoint. The wife shot both too, and agreed the 1911 was the hot ticket.

1911 in 38 Super. Try it. I prefer an early series 70 Colt but there are so many folks making 1911's now that there are lots of quality options.

Guy on a local board works at the Remington plant outside of LR Arkansas. They are making 3 MILLION rounds of 22LR PER DAY. Crazy. It does look like supply is finally catching up to demand around here.

I have a Colt Government 38 Super that I inherited from my dad, it is a beautiful little sidearm that is a pleasure to shoot.

22LR ammo is plentiful and getting cheap on Gunbroker, you can find it now for less than $0.07 a round now!

You know you can convert a series 80 to 70 with a conversion shim from brownells. I have done it, it's easy to do, and works great. I like 1911s, but I'm more of a Browning Hi power guy. Once you shoot a Browning Hi power, you'll forget about a Glock...
