Dear Jambo Owners –

The Jambo Registry is proud to announce the first-ever Jambo Jamboree! Join other Jambo owners on July 26, 2017, for the 65th Anniversary of the Jeepers Jamboree in Georgetown, CA (the gateway to the Rubicon)!! Then, stay for the Jeepers Jamboree July 27-30, 2017! Come celebrate the event that started it all!

By special arrangement, Jeepers Jamboree will host Jambo owners at its Classic Alley in downtown Georgetown, CA. Owners will be able to show off their Jambos and let others know about their classic Jeep, which was created to honor the 30th Anniversary of this epic four-wheel event!

Come promote the Jambo, meet Jambo owners, learn about the history of the event that lent its name to the 1982 Jeep CJ-7 Jamboree Commemorative Edition! Then, hit the Rubicon Trail for the trip of a lifetime, if you dare!

The gates will open at 6:00 AM on July 26, 2017, and the event will end at 5:00 PM. Jeepers Jamboree will provide lunch to all owners who are displaying their Jambo!

In addition, Jeepers Jamboree has kindly offered to provide Jambo owners, who display their rigs, with discounted registration for the 65th Jeepers Jamboree (July 27-30). Specifically, for those who would like to attend the event, you can sign up between Nov 1st and June 1st and Jeepers Jamboree will except your registration even if they are at sold out numbers, which is always the case. The price will be $450 per person across the board so you will not have to pay the increased registration price.

Please note that the Jeepers Jamboree event is optional! You can come display your Jambo on July 26 without going on the Rubicon, July 27-30!

The Jambo Registry hopes you will attend! This is a great opportunity to increase awareness of the Jambo and get it the press coverage it deserves.

Please follow this link for more information and to register: http://www.82jambo.com/82_Jambo_Jamboree.html

I hope you will attend!

Thanks,

Eric

Yea its only a 33 hour or 2,253 miles away.

Those that are committed, are you driving your Jambo, trailering or what?

At least I know #12 made it half that distance with no issues.

You really have no excuse Tommy. Just like no excuse for sandblast. My challenge to you. --> get one of em done in 2017. Just one [emoji482][emoji41]

Glad you guys are excited! :headbang: I am either putting #0152 on a trailer or having it shipped.

Hi Guys -

Here is the latest on the Jambo Jamboree: http://www.82jambo.com/82_Jambo_Jamboree.html

If you are planning to attend but are not listed, would you please email me (jambo152@jambo.com) to confirm? I want to update the website and make sure we have everyone up there. That will encourage even more people to attend.

Thanks!

Eric

 JPFreek may need to cover this if you can confirm a good turnout.

I'm really curious if anyone would try to actually do the Rubicon in one that was anything close to stock.

Press coverage would be fantastic! We really need to let people know about the Jambo.

I am not taking my Jambo on the Rubicon. There are a few guys that might. These are not stock Jambos.

Just to be clear, you can come to the event and display your Jambo on Wednesday without going on the trail Thursday-Sunday.

Can a stock Jamboree not successfully navigate the Rubicon trail unscathed

I know it would have to take bypasses around some of the tougher obstacles, but can't it be done

Sounds like a challenge, not sure if JeepAddict will let me borrow one of his now :crazy:

It surely can be done, but it would be a shame to bend a priceless rocker trim or rear corner on a cherry Jambo. I think we all know a stock CJ can do it with good driver input and spare parts [emoji2]

 LOL.

A stock Jambo can certainly do it. In fact, 3-5 Jambos were driven on the 30th anniversary. In 1982, Jeep gave away a Jambo at Rubicon Springs, which is on the trail. http://www.82jambo.com/82_Jambo_History.html

The front page of www.82jambo.com has a color picture of a Jambo on the Rubicon.

As you guys probably know, all new Jeeps have to prove themselves on the Rubicon before hitting the market. There are no bypasses, however (http://www.jeepersjamboree.com/geninfo.html). You can make it, but the chance of body damage or even rollover is not negligible.

I happen to know about those "trail rated" trips. They bring an army to stack rocks and are insanely slow. No normal grouo would ever make it the same way and with any traffic behind you no one would stand for it. They go in the middle of the week during slow times. People say that it's nothing like it used to be with all the use it gets, to your comment citing '82.

There's not one chance in hell I'd ever take a Jambo that wasn't a trail beater on that trail, but I'd love to watch someone who didn't feel the same try :smokin:
